Is this too much?

For a wedding guest?

Can't stop looking at it. Wedding is at a country hotel and it's an early afternoon wedding.

Is this too much?

Personally I would say so.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 07/06/2024 13:16

Its gorgeous but I would feel a bit overdressed in it at a wedding. Great for a summer black tie event!

KirstenBlest · 07/06/2024 13:25

Get it. It's 'too much' but you know you want it.

Defiantlynot41 · 07/06/2024 13:26

Looks like you wish you were a bridesmaid! I thing the combination of a lot of frills plus pastel colour makes it too bridesmaidy

StressyMcStressFace · 07/06/2024 13:31

1980s bridesmaid

HowDoTheyManageAtAll · 07/06/2024 13:33

It's quite ugly, and definitely too much

MaryMack · 07/06/2024 13:34

Too frilly and too similar to a bridesmaid’s dress

Mulloffuckintyre · 07/06/2024 13:34

You might get away with it if it was shorter, maybe you could take it up yourself and dispense with 75% of the frills.

Mulloffuckintyre · 07/06/2024 13:35

And also remove the puff sleeves.

KrazyboutKillian · 07/06/2024 13:36

Too much ? Too much what ?
I really love it tbh , it’s very feminine, those layers will swish when you walk and dance
if your normal style is cos or reiss then it is a big departure from pared back style
but sounds like the event and venue are perfect for it

WYorkshireRose · 07/06/2024 13:36

If the bottom was sans frills you might just get away with it.

Verite1 · 07/06/2024 13:40

It’s very full on. I could see someone wearing it as an alternative wedding dress to be honest. How traditional is the wedding (and the wedding dress) going to be. If you can get a full refund, I would buy and see how it is in the flesh but I’m not convinced it would be appropriate guest wear at the moment.

PMPBlue · 07/06/2024 13:42

It is very pretty, but it looks like it could be accessorised with a crook and some sheep.

JammyJellyfish · 07/06/2024 13:46

Yes. And I think to pull it off you would need a really tall and slender body type to pull off all the frills etc. I would look horrific in it 😅

Spot on!

I really don't like it OP, way too frilly and fussy.

Revelatio · 07/06/2024 13:51

It looks like the cover my great grandmother used to put over her toilet rolls. Am not a fan. Unless your a 6yr old flower girl, then I would look elsewhere!

TheChosenTwo · 07/06/2024 13:53

Oh god it looks like one of those toilet cover dolls!!!!
the print is really pretty but it’s just so frilly 😂

TheChosenTwo · 07/06/2024 13:53

Oops, I didn’t see your comment @Revelatio - but yes, I agree.

Phantasmagorically · 07/06/2024 13:54

It looks like the kind of dress a lady who worked in a Wild West saloon would wear.

I do have a few sheep knocking about Smile

If you like it then get it and swish around in it

crinkletits · 07/06/2024 13:59

Yer it's too much I agree. I'm 6 foot tall and 55 (although fabulous obvs) can you imagine the ruffles tucked into my knickers, asking the DJ if he's got any Quo whilst playing air guitar?

The Sienna Miller dress at Mand S is similar but a bit more streamlined.

I love it. I love frills.

Lavenderandbrown · 07/06/2024 14:00

It’s a bit theatrical and yet has a 80s throwback feel to it. Op you can wear anything if you wear it with confidence.

Summeratlast24 · 07/06/2024 14:06

If you love it and it suits you I don’t see why you can’t wear it. It would be a bit much for me but it’s fine for a wedding.

The last wedding I went to was very informal. It was a register office and 5* hotel but most guests were in everyday sun dresses and flat sandals that you would wear round the shops. It was a young wedding though with bride and groom and guests mostly under 30. I was one of the most dressed up in a smart dress and heels.
