Need some trendy comfy trainers

needsomestyle · 25/05/2024 16:46

No idea where to start. I'm short and curvy and prob will wear with jeans and dresses.

Need something that doesn't come up too high on the heel looks good and makes me look like I am in fashion!

Any ideas?

Adidas Samba or Gazelle. Trainers of the summer! Just choose your colour. Ultra fashionable DD lives in her gazelles right now.

Christine1998 · 25/05/2024 20:21

Adidas bravada are the comfiest fashion trainers i have ever worn.

eileandubh · 25/05/2024 20:28

I've just walked 15k steps in a brand new pair of Air & Grace trainers and my feet are happy. No idea whether A&G passes the Style & Beauty test but they look good to me.

Check out Skechers, they're fab. Like walking on cushions.

My mum was sketchers and she's 94. Just saying.

MiniPumpkin · 25/05/2024 20:14

Sketchers are not cool. Sorry to all who posted re them. I’m saving these for when I’m a little older 😂 sorry
imo black and white vans go with everything

At work the 19 yo and 30 yo wear Sketchers., also ds gf aged 26. Maybe I just know the uncool young 🤷‍♀️

RampantIvy · 25/05/2024 20:49

I'd hazard a guess that if you removed the logos from all brands of trainers you wouldn't get the sneering hatred of Skechers that often occurs on this type of thread.

They now offer such a wide range of styles that many pairs don't have the traditional Skechers look if it wasn't for the big S on the side.

DD (23) wears Skechers at work, and so do most of her workmates (all under 30).

Cazziebo · 25/05/2024 21:01

I'm with @littlewhiteclouds82 . Wore a pair of Hoffs for a weekend in New York with loads of walking. Incredibly comfortable! And they look gorgeous- I love mine so much I'm thinking about getting another pair in different colours.

littlewhiteclouds82 · 25/05/2024 21:12

@Cazziebo I have a pair of white orange and grey and they look amazing! Always get compliments. Got a less in your face grey pair and love them just as much! Also like the fact they aren't everywhere like Veja, Addidas and Nike etc! Can be our secret 😂

thisraincangetfucked · 25/05/2024 21:17

I like my hoff trainers. Lots of colours to choose from and I find them very comfy.

bananamum13 · 25/05/2024 21:18

Got to be Nike all the way - Skechers really aren't cool or in fashion

RallySooney · 25/05/2024 21:24

I love my Hoff trainers. Incredibly comfy and great colour ways.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/05/2024 21:26

I think New Balance are incredibly uncomfortable

My favourite are my Veja Campos. I’ve got a pair of leather Superga which are very comfortable, too.

LunaNorth · 25/05/2024 21:29

They’re divisive, but my Golden Goose trainers are my most comfortable, closely followed by Air Force Ones.

I size up in Gazelles, because they’re so narrow. Love them though.

Hoffs are very comfy, and platform Converse are way comfier than the originals.

SpindleyDindley · 25/05/2024 21:38

Every time I see yet another woman in New Balance I think fashion victim rather than ooh you look trendy.

OP head to a shop and pick out some trainers you like the look of and try them on. Being a sheep is never a good look.

llareggub · 25/05/2024 21:42

I have a few pairs of Hoff and AF1s. Both are great for walking.

Lilacdew · 25/05/2024 21:51

Skechers are so comfortable. And they look fine. Who cares if the brand is cool or not if they look and feel good?

multivac · 25/05/2024 21:53

Just bought a pair of Gola trainers; they are gorgeous. Super comfortable, and great with work frocks or jeans.

woolflower · 25/05/2024 21:57

My ON trainers are the comfiest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned and apparently a quite trendy brand.

I have the plain white Roger styles and wear them with both trousers and dresses.

Femme2804 · 25/05/2024 21:57

Veja and new balance are trendy at the moment. Both are very comfy.

adidas samba also in but it hurt my feet like crazy

Greenmayleaves · 25/05/2024 21:58

I was also impressed by the comfort of Hoffs,, even the ones with the flat sole. They are my go to when I want to feel trendy. If I'm walking a lot eg a city break I always go back to skechers. Despite them being uncool they are so comfortable for me. The last pair didn't have the big s on the side either, the logo is discreet.

If you’re not bothered about a brand name then check out Moda in Pelle - I’ve recently bought a pair of white leather trainers from there, and there’s 20% off to at the moment, including sale items.

I bought these - they’re so comfy I’m going to buy another pair in another colour! I’ve worn with dresses and jeans this week.

How is the sizing on these? I've tried some very similar, but I'm a 7.5 and found the 8 far too small.

RampantIvy · 25/05/2024 22:09

A lot of the "trendy" trainers hurt my feet, so I just wear what is comfortable. I have some Adidas that walked for miles in on holiday, some leather Remonte D0900 which are smart enough for work and some Skechers Trail for walking in.

DonnaGiovanna · 25/05/2024 22:12

I havey eye on a pair of Gola trainers - heard they are very comfortable but haven't tried any on yet.

thepurplepenguin · 25/05/2024 22:13

Lilacdew · 25/05/2024 21:51

Skechers are so comfortable. And they look fine. Who cares if the brand is cool or not if they look and feel good?

But OP has specifically asked for recommendations for trainers that are 'in fashion'. She certainly hasn't asked for a lecture on why she shouldn't want shoes that are 'in fashion'. So why recommend Sketchers, when they are clearly not?

(Also, they are not particularly comfortable compared to On Cloud or NB 530, but that's beside the point)

thepurplepenguin · 25/05/2024 22:17

I think the Skechers marketing team must be posting on these threads, because I never see anyone under 70 wearing them in public irl.
