Stylish work dress - where from?

I suspect that it may be the wrong season, but I'm looking for a work dress that in my head is belted, possibly has a small collar and has blocks of colour. I quite like the one below, although would prefer not one colour and it's a bit pricy for something I don't love.

Has anyone seen anything about?

A chest patch pocket and crossover V-neck lend a sense of ease to our cotton twill dress. Available in Indigo.

Thank you ladies. Ghislaine a younger me would have been all over that dress, it's wonderful!

The others are very nice and have given me some new ideas of where to look. I've been stuck in an e-bay/vinted Toast/Massimo Dutti rut for a few years, and I never know where else to look.

The black and white &Other Stories one?

What makes you think you're too old for it? I'm 65- I wouldn't wear it because I'm 65 but because I don't like it (it's a bit dull) I can't see anything about it which could make anyone think they're too old for it.

If you mean the ASOS , one same comment re age. I don't see anything about it either which would make someone too old for it.

If you just generally want a few alternative places to browse, at around the same price point, these are all worth a look, depending on your preferred style:

Thank you so much - looking now and am inspired.

Ihaveneverlivedinthecastle, I'm mid-50s and very muted tones these days I'm afraid. Also very pale, so those sorts of colours don't work as well as on darker skin.

Love this but not sure on paler skin.

Get the AD dress. I'd wear it it's lovely.

Trumpetoftheswan2 · 23/05/2024 13:16

I liked it a alot, but now it's out of my price range, I love it!

I can't justify paying over £200 for a dress though, especially one that was £70 cheaper a few days ago, but hope that my size stays in stock for the sales.

It's £220, which is a lot for a cotton dress, but it is cotton which many aren't.
It's a nice style that shouldn't date badly, and it's striking.

If you have an event where you need a knockout dress, e.g. a wedding, it would be a great option because you could wear it for decades.

On the other hand you could go out and buy 3 £75 viscose or polyester dresses that are a bit meh, and you'll not love them, and they'll be in the charity shop in 3 years' time.

That’s far from my favourite AD dress - I think they have nicer ones. But I don’t go to the site often enough to understand how their sales operate.
