Am mourning the loss of my Merrell Terran Lattice II walking sandals. Very comfortable, and once on, pretty nice for sandals you could walk all day in. The straps were arranged just so - I don't know why Merrell have changed the design in the updated version. I've looked for ages and can't find them now, apart from second-hand on ebay. Second-hand sandals are a bridge too far, alas.

Sometimes when I come across, say, a t-shirt or a jumper that turns out to be just the right cut or whatever, I might buy another one while I can. Wish I'd thought to do that with these Merrells. Oh well. Tell me I'm not alone?

One of the camping shops, may have been Millets, did a post toe suede feel shoe that was a dream to walk in, used to walk miles in the countryside wearing them, I bought two pairs and unfortunately the dog ate one pair. I have looked everywhere for similar, the footbed was moulded and springy, they were lightweight and toe post bit was so soft.

The original Hobbs ballet flats. Not the new style. The originals. I ended up buying orange ones on eBay and using dye to try and keep going with them!!!

Yardley Jade perfume. It was a reboot of Sea Jade from the 60s and smelt beautiful, very like Chanel Crystalle. It was available for a few years then discontinued. Bottles are now £60+ not £12!

Is that not Yardley Flora Jade? If so you can still buy it for less than a tenner on Amazon. It does smell a lot like Cristalle.

Caramac bars 😔

You can still get these. They're stocked in my local shop.

Revlon(?) Flex hair conditioner

You can buy this in Home Bargains!

Anne French
Gucci rose perfume

TheFormidableMrsC · 20/05/2024 08:41

Paul Smith Rose. Although I have been recommended an Eden perfumes dupe which I will order when I finish the last of my bottle. Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in Rock n Roll nude. Absolutely perfect shade. I've bought all stocks on eBay. There are a couple listed
for stupid money that is simply not justifiable. I'll be gutted when I run out of my stocks. I never understood why they discontinued it. It always flew off the shelves.

Aldi Lacura Rose cleansing balm. It’s a real competitor to Elemis, at a fraction of the price. Hopefully they’ll bring it back.

I'm delighted to share this link.
We have tents for different purposes (family camping/expedition etc) and have been through a few in our time. I really rate this one.
It has a few design features that suit me.

It has a side door in the porch. These are invaluable for when it's pelting down. The sloping front door, as seen on so many tents, drip into your porch when you go in and out in the rain. The side door prevents you from having to use it so the tent stays dry. Very few small tents feature them.

It has a porch large enough to cook in, relax in and even fit two camping chairs when it's wet.

It has a dark lining in the sleeping space which is soothing in the sun after you get back from being active.

It is very quick to put up and take down.

Eurohike Avon 3 DLX Nightfall Tent | Ultimate Outdoors

Another one coming on to sing the praises of this tent too. My son’s scout camp used them and he liked the style so we got one for the kids for a birthday present a few years ago. It’s been great, they take it on camps, camp in the back garden in it too :-) and it’s just an ideal small tent. It’s easy to put up, generous size, and nice combo of sleeping area and “living” area which can be opened right up. For a small tent it’s spot on. Three people at a push on a scout camp. Two comfortably with a bit of space. One in luxury!

One of the sets of poles had the elastic go a few months ago - I did try to fix it but I was a bit inept and ended up just buying a replacement pole from a website.

Lime Crime Liquid Plushie in Butterscotch. There are colour dupes out there but they don't come close to the texture imo.

thenightsky · 20/05/2024 09:58

Boots Botanics All Bright Gentle Eye Make Up remover. I've got 1 bottle left. Don't know what I'll do when that's gone as every other type I've tried has inflamed my eyes. 😥

TalkSomeSense1 · 20/05/2024 11:09

Fresh soy dry body oil
Bliss Minty shower gel and giant soap bars.
Blis Spa Oxygen Face Mask.
Vidal Sasson shampoo and conditioner that smelled of almonds
Very Valentino perfume
The Body Shop did a melon seed body butter that I used to buy up by the bucket load every time I clapped eyes on the stuff.
Elnett hairspray that smelled of roses (old lady but I loved it!)

The endless list of things I wish were still here..... sigh.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 20/05/2024 11:37

Jo Malone Nutmeg & Ginger bath oil. They still do the perfume in their archive collection, but it's the bath oil that I loved.

Jo Malone Bronzewood & Leather perfume. It was a real "marmite" scent but I loved it.

A khaki linen jumpsuit from Monsoon. I lived in it when I bought it but put on weight and it didn't fit anymore. Then I came across one in the right size on Vinted. Bought it and lived in it again...until I split oil in it and I can't seem to get the stain out. 😭

stayathomer · 20/05/2024 11:40

Roche posay extension mascara, Gucci perfume, Charles worthington dreamy clean hair shampoo and it looks now like the type of Roche posay spf (face- hydrating) is disappearing. Sobs!

henlake7 · 20/05/2024 11:40

I dont think there is anything I wish Id bought more of.....plenty of things I wish I hadnt thrown out coz I didnt think Id fit into them again though!

LaMontser · 20/05/2024 11:50

Decleor Prolagene gel. I have just found out that bloody L’Oréal have discontinued decleor and this is honestly a wonder product. I have half a tube left and am bereft.

Have you tried elbow grease on it? Spray it on, leave it soak in and then wash it, that usually works for me.

Rub a big blob of washing up liquid into the stain and leave it for a while. It should wash out easily after that!

Loads of Aldi skincare on Vinted, so worth a look there. I've bought loads.

Remembered some more: ANY Lee Stafford hair product before they changed from the original fragrance to a new formulation. Must have been a licensing issue because I saw Lee himself replied to social media comments saying he missed it too. It was really distinctive and reminded me of a perfume but I could never figure out which one!
I also liked Anne French cleansing milk and 10-0-6 deep pore cleanser(that one came back for a short time then disappeared again).

Sasperilla stretchy trousers from about 20 years ago

Ineedaholidayyyy · 20/05/2024 13:01

The Sol de Janeiro Coco Cobana range ! I always bought a travel set for holidays and they discontinued it last year 😢

OolongTeaDrinker · 20/05/2024 13:10

In the late 90s Lancome did a shimmery kind of almost glittery tinted moisturiser, I wish I had stockpiled it!

Clarins sunshine perfume.

I loved that! Nivea do an amazing shower gel that smells of suntan lotion, boots had it for a quid a couple of years ago but I haven't seen it since then.

Given that suntan lotion is instant dopamine to most women, you'd think the marketing geeks would make better use of the fragrance.

Try places like Savers Chemists, Bodycare and also Asda as they often have these fragrances at very good prices ... I love PS for Women in the purple bottle and recently got a 100ml EDT for £21.
