things you wish you'd bought more of before they disappeared

Am mourning the loss of my Merrell Terran Lattice II walking sandals. Very comfortable, and once on, pretty nice for sandals you could walk all day in. The straps were arranged just so - I don't know why Merrell have changed the design in the updated version. I've looked for ages and can't find them now, apart from second-hand on ebay. Second-hand sandals are a bridge too far, alas.

Sometimes when I come across, say, a t-shirt or a jumper that turns out to be just the right cut or whatever, I might buy another one while I can. Wish I'd thought to do that with these Merrells. Oh well. Tell me I'm not alone?

M&S Sumptuously Soft bras. I went to buy more before they disappeared and they had disappeared!

Ditto Gap jeans I went to buy an exact copy in same size and they were thinner and 2in longer!

All the various light moisturizers with SPF I use that they then discontinue.

I did actually buy a few pairs of Office sandals that I loved but my feet decided they need even more comfort so I can only have walking sandals. There are literally one pair I like so wondering if to buy them again....

They still do them but they are called body soft now!

Biotex

I came to say the old taste Heinz Tomato Soup, and then realised it was "Style and Beauty" 🤦‍♀️
Wish I'd stocked up on Birkenstock Gizeh when TKMaxx used to sell them for £23.99., instead of the copies they now sell.

GaslitByGap · 19/05/2024 09:40

Ooh thanks @Calypsocuckoo do you know if they really are the same? Last time I searched the site for Sumptuously Soft I think it brought up these Flexefit ones, I tried one and it was great but the material was a bit too sweaty!

M&S are buggers for renaming stuff and hiding them. I lived in M&S midi pants and was distressed last year to find they had disappeared. Apparently they haven't, they have just rebranded them "high rise shorts" for reasons unknown.

Holland & Barrett's Wonder Oil. Had the most sublime scent and was a dream to slather onto skin.

muddyford · 19/05/2024 09:45

Bisto gravy powder, the pound boxes. Just poxy small ones in all the supermarkets round here.

LadySlipper · 19/05/2024 09:46

Jimmy Choo Rose Gold perfume. And chocolate covered rich tea biscuits.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 19/05/2024 09:46

I miss the plain cotton camisole/strappy vest tops from M&S in loads of colours.
You could always find one to go under any colour of top or to match your knickers.

These days they're in 3-packs in annoying combinations of dull colours.

Clarks Idyllic pumps. They were sold as yoga slippers I think (?!) but were perfect soft, comfy ballet flats for everyday. Always had hundreds of 5* reviews. I occasionally find them second hand but they were sold 10+ years ago now so probably very few left in the wild 😭

Primark Soon jeggings (don't laugh!). Perfect shape & length for me

I scour Vinted and EBay to try and get replacements for loved items...it's surprising how often you can find what you want

The sandals, not Office, they're Trespass Kimbra... I only bought them last year so not that much used yet but perhaps should get another just in case!

mushroomushroom · 19/05/2024 10:25

Lululemon on the fly pants. The most comfortable pair of trousers I own, they're stretchy and just perfect. I can't believe they got rid of them.

They are still my go to trousers for work or anything where I need to look put together but still casual. Really hoping they bring them back some day. If they do I will be stocking up. The "replacement" they have out now just isn't as good.

Squirrelsnut · 19/05/2024 10:27

Yardley Jade perfume. It was a reboot of Sea Jade from the 60s and smelt beautiful, very like Chanel Crystalle. It was available for a few years then discontinued. Bottles are now £60+ not £12!

BridgetRandomfuck · 19/05/2024 10:31

Original Michael Kors perfume, now selling for silly money on eBay and the like. I’m ekeing out my bottle on special occasions and hoping they will eventually relaunch it one day….

I was going to say Yardley Jade as well. So close to Cristalle and so much cheaper. As you say now on e-bay and vinted for silly prices.

pictoosh · 19/05/2024 10:43

Yeah that reminds me...Lululemon All the Right Places leggings. I had two pairs to alternate but after five years of constant use they have become weary. Went to replace to discover they are no more. I was sad.

Thanks @GaslitByGap , I just took a look and have taken a punt. They're reduced atm and there's a voucher code as well, so it seemed rude not to.

I don't know if it's because I'm middle aged now, but in years gone by, walking sandals just weren't on my radar at all. Since the Merrells, they seem like a must-have now. I just cba with blisters or anything you can't wear all day now.

Liz Earle Superbalm.
Absolutely loved it, have tried other balms and still haven't found anything as good
