Trainer socks - just need some which stay put!

FirstPastThePostOffice · 09/05/2024 11:47

Don’t want them to show above my trainers but also they need to stay on my foot <hard stare at trainer currently containing sock crumpled under my foot>

Any recommendations please?

Thanks.

I use Nike. Bunches a bit at the heel at first but I can’t see them and they stay put

AdoraBell · 09/05/2024 12:11

I bought some in M&S, they stay put but don’t look as good as those linked up thread. Hope you find some that work for you OP

Cocolapew · 09/05/2024 12:12

Tesco, they have rubber(?) on the heel so dont slip down.

spottyhotdog · 09/05/2024 12:14

Next have some which have a little bit of silicone on the back. They're brilliant! They come in different tones too.

wingslikeeagles · 09/05/2024 12:14

I have this problem, but also find all shoes without a strap/laces also fall off my heel. Do any of the people suggesting their favourite socks have the same problem and find they work even so?

Rainbowshit · 09/05/2024 12:14

Primark

TorroFerney · 09/05/2024 12:16

HipSwan. I have never had any that don't bunch under my feet and I have tried lots , these are excellent.

ThewaytoAmarula · 09/05/2024 12:17

None of them stay put for me, silicone or no. I've finally embraced the fashion for visible ankle socks and life is much more comfortable!

Yes i have exactly the same issue, it's really irritating. I posted before I saw your post to recommend HipSwan, the only ones that have ever stayed up/on.

BubblePopPop · 09/05/2024 12:18

Home bargains, look like fishnet material, can’t be seen and honestly do stay put. About £3 a pack. Think they’re similar to the Primark ones.

IWishThatYouWouldStay · 09/05/2024 12:21

I've tried loads and the best ones for me are M&S. don't budge, even when I'm running.

You can get them in black too

These ones!

LetsGoRoundTheRoundabout · 09/05/2024 12:23

These, no show under pretty low cut trainers too. I bought from Costco, but they’re on Amazon too. https://amzn.eu/d/bEf9nc1

Getting the right size helps a lot - I’m an 8, and ladies “one size” don’t work for me, these ones are 6-8.

Yes @wingslikeeagles i can’t wear shoes without some kind of ankle strap or laces as everything slips off my heel. But these socks stay put.

I've gone through loads & the primark ones are by far the best (& cheap).

SoupDragon · 09/05/2024 13:18

Another vote for Primark.

marriednotdead · 09/05/2024 13:22

I have this problem too. I am a size 39 (6) but find that the 4-7s are too stretchy so I try to get ones slightly smaller. My favourite pair were gifts from DP, no idea where they’re from and they’re falling apart but they’re perfect and the toe box isn’t too narrow which is the downside of getting smaller ones.

Papyrophile · 09/05/2024 13:27

I bought some that stay put well, from M&S, but the quality is rubbish: multiple holes after the second wear.

whatsappdoc · 09/05/2024 13:31

I gave up with trainer socks now I turn my ankle socks inside out and after putting them on, turn down under the heel as far as necessary.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 09/05/2024 13:33

After having heaps of rubbish ones (sensory nightmare with them sliding down the foot) I've had much better success with:

Tu at Sainburys (but bought the mens version which they do in two sizes)

White Stuff which wash and wear really well.

Back21970 · 09/05/2024 13:36

I’m a size 8 shoe and have to buy mens trainer socks.

Never found any that good to be honest, but will a look at Tu.

WhereAreWeNow · 09/05/2024 13:39

I've got some really nice ones from Uniqlo. They don't slide down. The don't show. And they're soft, sort of sports sock fabric so they're almost a bit cushioned. V comfy.
