The dress looks much better in those official shots. I suppose most things do!

Is that a society wedding thing, to get changed for the reception? I’ve never heard of that.

I was at a wedding here in the US recently, and the bride changed after the meal, cake, etc, into another white dress for dancing the night away. I think most formal wedding ceremony dresses would be suitable for dancing in, even demure dancing.

Earl Spencer is getting divorced again.
I liked that wedding dress too.

I feel like the soon-to-be former Countess should have featured more on our threads. She looks very striking.

KillingMeDeftIy · 09/06/2024 21:36

I really liked her purple ensemble at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

I’ve seen that before, just not with all the guests getting changed too.

Earl S has always struck me as a nasty piece of work.

Earl S has always struck me as a nasty piece of work.

I thought so too but after reading about his latest book I have some sympathy for him. The Spencers seem to have surpassed even the Windsors In dysfunction and it sounds like he and Diana were the worst affected by it.

Maireas · 10/06/2024 07:05

The Spencers certainly have had their problems. Charles' account of his early schooling is harrowing in the extreme. Their mother leaving hit Diana and him very hard. The poor man was recently treated as an inpatient for trauma arising from this memoir. No, he hasn't always been a pleasant man, but I do feel sorry that he had such experiences.

Perhaps it was a bit see through. But I'd have found a better way. It's very breast plate Boudicca 😂

Looking at the designer’s post about the dress, that was wholly intentional! I don’t know about the dress, it was a bit too literal and I don’t think it looked that good.

The designers post was funny. Good idea badly executed. I think removing the breast plate, different collar would transform the dress

deeahgwitch · 10/06/2024 21:25

I always feel Diana's mother was maligned.
Apparently she was the victim of domestic violence ( Penny Junor, no fan of Diana, has written ).
If true one can understand why she left.
Initially she had the two younger children.
Her own mother testified against her when Johnny Spencer went for custody of the children and she lost custody.
No doubt Sarah Mc Corquodale and Jane Fellowes could set the record straight.
She was only 18 when she got married and her daughter Sarah was born 9 months later.
She lost a son who died 10 hours after his birth before she had Diana.
The man she married after her divorce went on to have an affair with someone else and left Frances.

Charles Spencer has said he and Diana were so unhappy when their parent's marriage broke up and yet he has gone through three marriage break ups with 7 children involved. Sad

Maireas · 10/06/2024 21:35

Poor Frances, she didn't have an easy time. Unfortunately, in all these cases, children get affected and problems perpetuated.
At least Charles is getting help now.

And he hypocritically maligned KC at Diana's funeral for breaking up with her.

NottsNora · 11/06/2024 16:42

Moving on. Guess who these two are.

I'd hazard a guess at W&C, but they'd be horrified if recognised them from those models.

gluenotsoup · 11/06/2024 18:53

Wow, they’re shockers 😆

OMG 😂😂. Where are those?

Leti in her lavender trouser suit and flat white shoes. Both are re-wears. I think she has some nice suits, especially one of the red ones, but I'm not keen on lilac. She's been seen in these shoes a few times, I totally sympathise with her and her feet problems. That can be so painful.

Beatrice on a night out, and Max and Willem on a visit to Atlanta.

I like Beatrice in the green, that's a good colour and style on her. I don't like Max in the beige outfit, but the red is gorgeous. The picture showing her hat is so pretty. Love the brooch.

OP posts:
Papergirl1968 · 11/06/2024 20:52

The red is very Max. She doesn’t suit neutral colours. Perhaps not so much because of her own colouring but because of her big personality.

StartupRepair · 11/06/2024 21:44

Love that shade of dark green.

KillingMeDeftIy · 11/06/2024 22:47

Max looks great in the red. Less keen on her repurposing of a lamp shade here.
