Looking for pretty, comfortable sandals

WaterWall22 · 23/04/2024 12:59

Inspired by the current Birkenstock thread...

Can anyone help me find comfortable sandals that are also pretty? I want to be able to walk in them so would like proper soles but not typical walking sandals. I have Saltwater sandals but find them too flat to be nice looking with skirts or even that comfortable.

I quite like the look of these https://olukai.co.uk/products/waiau-womens-leather-slingback-sandals-silver?currency=GBP&variant=45276290187554&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=fe172cebc4b5&gad_source=1

I'm not familiar with the brand and not sure they'd be comfortable enough for longer walks in a city/on cobbled streets.
Some of the Fitflop ones look quite nice too but perhaps a little bulky.

Any ideas?

I have walked for miles in Reiker sandals. They have lots of styles.

WaterWall22 · 23/04/2024 16:32

@Absurdgiraffe those look quite nice. Thought Rieker would be all traditional walking sandals

I have the Teva voya infinity. Mine are in black, but they do have some other colours. Possibly a bit too walking-sandal for you, but the criss-cross of the straps on the ones you linked to made me think of mine.

Or Heavenly Feet?

I bought these last year and have worn them loads, and walked miles. They’re extremely comfortable, and more slimline than Birkenstocks or Dr Martens - which I also have, but they sometimes look too clumpy.

I have bought these from M&S for the last three years. Bloody love them and they are so comfy! Just bought the Birkenstock lookalikes a few weeks ago. Comfy as ever.

KatPurrson · 23/04/2024 18:36

Try Pikolinos

XiCi · 23/04/2024 20:42

Really like the heavenly feet and the Carvelas

exomoon · 23/04/2024 20:45

I’ve walked miles in Merrell sandals, loved them.

Thanks all for great suggestions. I particularly like the Carvelas!

Blowfish granola. I have plantar fasciitis but they are so comfy and come in lots of designs

wibdib · 24/04/2024 22:22

I like the Teva Tirra sandals - blissfully comfortable (I have several pairs in different colours over the years), waterproof (so can walk through rivers/puddles/sea etc or wash them under the hose when dirty out in the garden), adjustable but a bit less clumpy than normal walking sandals.

First heard about them on Mumsnet on a thread like this several years ago!

Arche- pricy but oh so comfy

fitflop- I have loads, and most very comfy for walking

birkies

WhereAreWeNow · 25/04/2024 10:28

I like the ones in your first post OP but I haven't heard of the brand. I'd be wary of such thin straps.... I'd be worried about them shredding my feet!
Have a look at Fitflop Gracie. They do a silver version that has a nice, delicate style but is super comfy.

KirstenBlest · 25/04/2024 13:50

I'd go with a brand like Josef Seibel, Hotter, Gabor or Rieker.
I have some Pikolinos and they're fine.

I'd put comfort before pretty. The brands I mention are not everyone's taste but they do different styles.

KatPurrson · 23/04/2024 18:36

Try Pikolinos

I second Pikolinos

LadyEloise1 · 25/04/2024 19:44

Skechers Arch Fit have 2 pretty styles in this year's Spring / Summer Collection.

Thank you @KirstenBlest
However the link isn't working on my iphone

KirstenBlest · 25/04/2024 21:00

I don't know anything about iPhones.

I’ve had Dune Lorde for the last few years- so comfy. But hard to get hold of. Got my last pair on vinted for a steal.
