What type of hair do you have? I like the Umberto Giannini one. I have type 2c hair. I find cantu is too thick and neither Boots nor Creighton's have enough hold for me.

Cyclingmummy1 · 19/04/2024 18:35

I've gone back to Umberto after trying lots of expensive brands. I do like redken though https://images.app.goo.gl/8ro4fN5SQN7JMNXF6

Thank you I have tried the umberto giannini range and doesn't have enough hold for me I will try the Redken one as I haven't tried it yet x

Revolution Plex is good, very soft though.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 19/04/2024 21:34

I’ve tried all sorts and my hair has never been curlier just by using plain old, super cheap Alberto Basalm gel and scrunching!

Jad50 · 21/04/2024 19:42

What umberto giannini is it you use the gel did nothing for my hair I do like the mousse x

I have the Umberto gel and the creme and mix them both together.

HauntedBungalow · 22/04/2024 10:54

I use a scoop of More Than Moisturizer cream - as much as I can scoop with three fingers. Work it flatter between my hands then smooth it on my hair. Then take the same amount of curl jelly and scrunch it through.

I have emailed Trevor Sorbie, they say not discontinued but having problems with supply, no salons have it either. But then Superdrug say no longer stocking. It is also the only curl cream that really holds my hair and creates great volume and shape. The Best! I’ve tried them all. Also spending a fortune trying others but none of them any good, hair goes fluffy after 24hrs.

I have the same struggles. The Trevor sorbie curl cream is the only product with the right texture to create the depth I need to hold my fine curls plus definition and no frizz. I've never found anything that's the same. Either too light or too crispy, I definitely need a strong hold and have wondered about using a hair powder combined with a textured cream like Bed Head's Back it Up, which is 'okay' on its own.

Silverfoxette · 30/04/2024 23:35

I really like this curl cream although it’s getting harder find in shops, i might have to start ordering online

Stardust77 · 05/05/2024 23:38

I managed to get a couple of tubes online but am like a junkie looking for my next stash! I have used this product for around 15 years and will be totally lost without it. Everything else I've tried is either too light or too oily. I messaged Trevor Sorbje too and was told it had been discontinued.

Jad50 · 07/05/2024 19:42

Anyone found anything as good as trevor sorbie they are saying it's discontinued not coming back surely there must be something???

thank you @Jad50 for sending that. I’ll try it.
The bad news is I spoke to a Trevor Sorbie hair salon and all their hair products are discontinued. My hair also awful without it!

The good news is Creighton’s Frizz No More has very similar ingredients and costs £2 for 100ml. It’s the best I’ve found so far…

Jad50 · 25/05/2024 12:27

Oh that's great will give that a try a quite like inneto curl cream it's £3 in home bargains and poundland with shockwaves volume mousse worth a try for you also thank you so much xxx

If anyone's still looking, I found a few sticky specimens in TK Maxx in Shaftesbury Ave this morning, so TKmaxx might have the remaining stock?

Curly2000 · 31/05/2024 13:47

update... Creighton's had promise but it never really dried fully so made my hair look greasy by the end of the day, and was no good the day after. Sorry - I was so hopeful.

Best so far now - Evo, Total recoil curl cream. It's really strong hold and lasts a really long time. Same volume as Trevor Sorbie, I wouldn't say it's quite as conditioning (they suggest using with the balm which I may try) and the smell is not my favourite but I'm on day 3 since last wash and the hold is still working. More expensive than I would like.

Jad50 · 31/05/2024 18:32

I agree about the creightons didn't work for me either will try the evo thank you one for you also I like the inneeto curl cream and shockwaves volume mousse not expensive work well together for good curls and hold x

I used more than moisture umberto yesterday after washing my hair. It's pretty good and my hair dried into curls but I'd say a tad more great finish than T&D. I used VO5 overnight curls to define a bit more which is a strong hold but a bit more sticky than T&D. Still looking for "the one"

Stardust77 · 01/06/2024 10:32

On the trevor sorbie website they recommend tecni art bouncy and tender so this may be worth a go. Has anyone tried it?

Stardust77 · 01/06/2024 10:33

Meant to say tad more greasy finish on my last post not "great"

Yes I tried it and it was awful and not cheap either I'm getting good results with inneto curl cream x
