Trainer-esque shoe that is not a trainer?!

Please could anyone recommend a trainer-shape shoe (I’m thinking pumps rather than athletic) that I can wear to work?! Trainers themselves are strictly forbidden (it’s a school, but I’m in the office, not student-facing), but I do not suit ballet pumps or pointy flats at all. I have loafers, which are fine for winter, but as Spring / Summer approaches I’m after something a bit less formal.

I used to have some Kurt Geiger shoes that had a trainer platform, and a fabric upper but they were so uncomfortable 🤦‍♀️

I wear leather converse they are not a trainer but traineresque. Vans also do similar.

Sorry, just to add, this would be to wear with things like wide-leg trousers which typically look best with a trainer…

The 1461 soft leather DM's are exceptionally comfy. I think at the moment they only have them in black in womens, but if your foot fits their unisex sizes then there are more colours. I'm holding out for the chalk colour they did last year or the year before.

Fit flop or Superga. I find Converse are way too narrow.

A colleague wears black Allbirds longer style or tree skippers to work.

It was her who recommended them to me. I've had a few pairs of white tree skippers now and really rate them for comfort and being a tiny bit less 'trainery'

How about a laceless design, so they look a bit less trainerish? Russell & Bromley do a nice one if you're feeling extravagant, or a cheaper version from Matalan? Saw them in Sainsbury's last year too.

Yes I know exactly what to suggest- I also work in a school and wanted smart trainers to wear with trousers. These ones are from Next, comfy and ideal. I wear those invisible socks with them.

Slightly off topic, but what do You mean “trainers are forbidden”? I cannot compute how an adult can be forbidden from wearing what is a perfectly sensible and safe form of footwear on what is presumably the whim of another adult?
