Our flight is 6am
We are staying at a hotel opposite
Will be getting to airport for 4am
What would you wear ?
It's gonna be around 27 degrees when we land
Normally wear a hoodie but I don't feel very nice wearing that!
What would you wear ?

Leggings and sweatshirt with a T-shirt in my bag.

DappledThings · 12/04/2024 16:46

Jeans, top and jumper. Same as any flight or same as pretty much any day. No point dressing for the destination. 4am in the UK won't be warm and I change as soon as I get to my destination.

Timing or destination of flight makes no difference to what I'm wearing for the flight.

I’m not sure what that means but I’m sure you will look lovely in your River Island outfit. X

I never look cool and elegant, liike other people do in linen. Rather a lumpen potato sack vibe 😂

I did a flight like this yesterday. Left our daughters house in Toronto Canada at 4 degrees and landed home in Punta Cana at 28 degrees. Wore leggings, a strappy tshirt , ankle socks and comfy running shoes and a light cardigan. Was very comfy thru the flight, then as soon as disembarking, cardigan came off and got shoved in my hand luggage. Was home within 40 min of landing and instantly in a light sundress but totally comfortable in the plane outfit minus the cardigan.

Scarletttulips · 12/04/2024 17:47

I also put shorts in my bag and nip in the loo before security.

Easy to do and no effort.

TheChosenTwo · 12/04/2024 17:49

Probably athleisure type clothes, leggings, light vest top and a hoodie, discard the hoodie at the other end (not in the bin obviously but shove in a bag or tie around waist), I don’t find planes cold at all These days, I used to find they were freezing and now I find they are never cool enough! If your destination is hot it’s usually air conditioned, including the transport to the accommodation and the actual accommodation itself so for holidays I usually take there’s a tiny amount of time where I’m stood outside in the sun, leggings and a vest top is fine for a that.
Just be comfortable.

quizzys · 12/04/2024 17:49

An evening dress, pearls and heels.

Longma · 12/04/2024 18:04

For all flights I wear a long dress with socks and trainers. I put leggings underneath and a cardigan on top for layers. I don't get cold on planes in general. Infact I often find them too warm. Only time I've been cold was in one long haul flight in the exit row nearest the window.

If I could get away with PJs I would! Comfort is way more important than anything else imo.

StarlightLady · 12/04/2024 18:55

Loose fitting dress, cardigan and jacket. Then you can delayer as you wish during the flight.

ZsaZsaTheCat · 12/04/2024 19:01

Sweaty Betty jumpsuit, trainers and big cosy jumper.

Devongoddess · 12/04/2024 19:06

What I would wear for a flight at any time - a maxi skirt and a tshirt. Might pop a light sweater in my carry on.

AcheyBalzac · 12/04/2024 19:10

I would probably wear leggings under lightweight wide leg trousers with some thin fitted 3/4 sleeve tops (m & s do cute ones that are really handy) and a hoody.

I don’t think I’d enjoy travelling in trackie bottoms, I reckon I just wouldn’t feel… secure…?

takemeawayagain · 12/04/2024 19:16

Light loose summery trousers, t shirt, long cardigan. Assuming you're not flying out in December.

I wear jeans to the airport and then switch to lightweight cotton/linen trousers when I get there. Something like this:

I then put my jeans in my hand luggage. Layers are your friend.

Thanks for this. I wonder if M and S has an equivalent

itsgettingweird · 12/04/2024 19:26

Leggings, cotton longline t shirt and hoody. I'd also wear flip flops but take socks for the plane as they get cold!

tobee · 12/04/2024 19:42

Jersey cropped wide leg trousers in black or navy. Loose t shirt in similar colours. Denim jacket. Trainers. Maybe thin cardigan to put on if it's chilly.

Isometimeswonder · 12/04/2024 20:21

Wide leg trousers and slip on trainers.(not sure how else to describe them! )
Tshirt, thin hooded cardy and a scarf. Cardy and scarf can go into handluggage on arrival along with the trainers. I put flip-flops in my bag to change in to.

BrendaSmall · 12/04/2024 20:32

Something casual and comfortable
as I only go to hot places, I tend to just wear denim shorts T-shirt and hoodie, with crocs

thedendrochronologist · 13/04/2024 05:55

Black Jersey harem trousers, striped t shirt, slouchy cardigan and trainers is what I wore last week for a 6am flight

I had also had coat, dress and sandals m in my carry on if I need them

umberelladay · 13/04/2024 08:02

Short haul, a lovely linen dress, cardigan. I have a cashmere wrap and fluffy socks in my hand luggage.
I am one of those people who likes to dress up to fly.
The linen will crease a bit, but patterned linen is more forgiving.

LetsGoRoundTheRoundabout · 13/04/2024 08:09

Leggings, light dress, long cardigan. Plus a wide scarf. Works for me for virtually all plane journeys - cardigan on/off depending on temperature on plane, leggings can come off on arrival if it’s too hot.

mitogoshi · 13/04/2024 08:13

Jersey dress, trainers, cardigan or denim jacket unless cold enough to need a full coat here, I put leggings under my dress or thick tights if winter/cool here. Lots of long haul in winter for various reasons and it's a bit of a juggle to get it right, and depends a bit on the plane, newer models are definitely warmer

dudsville · 13/04/2024 08:16

How long is your flight. If it 2 or 3 hours, then dress for the weather when you land and take a cardi for the plane If it's longhaul then dress for the plane and change when you land.

RampantIvy · 13/04/2024 08:18

Which airlines have warm planes? I'm always cold when I fly. The last few times I have flown have been with Tui or Jet2.

NeedWineNow · 13/04/2024 09:12

Midi length loose jersey dress, denim jacket and Converse with my sarong used as a scarf for an extra layer if needed. I’ll have trainer socks on in case feet get cold otherwise they can come off and tuck in my bag. I carry a pair of flip flops in my hand luggage so just slip them on before landing and pop trainers in hand luggage.
