Blue jumpsuit from C&A clock house
Kookai black kitten heel mules
A whole collection of French connection tshirts with slogans (FCUK)

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 05/04/2024 07:02

At 8. The "leather look" skirt and bolero my mum made me.
13.My white jeans.(no.such a great move for someone so fucking clumsy)
16 The lamé biba top my incredibly cool sister sent me.She worked there and I longed to go. All the biba makeup I bought.

I always wanted a black dress with a white collar, like wednesday addams. But my mum vetoed as little girls shouldn't wear black.

rainontherooftop · 05/04/2024 07:47

My Harrington jacket. It got stolen at pontins and I was bereft.

moggo · 05/04/2024 13:02

In the 80s I had a pair of bright red velour drainpipes that I had to put on with a hanger! They bruised my hips but I loved them. Also granny shoes with high heels. Couldn't walk in them but hey! White rara skirt with red dots.
In the 70s a pair of black, wide legged high waistband patch pocket trousers. Oh and cheesecloth top tied at the waist.

I went through phases. At one point, it was those popper tracksuit bottoms 🤢. For shame!

Later, I had a pearl embellished denim skirt which I loved a lot.

At about 18/19 I started wearing jeans and my dad's massive old jumpers with a full face of make up and hair 😂. I don't know why, but that's what I liked wearing 🤷‍♀️. Sort of old man chic. I still lean that way if I'm honest.

Ruched grey suede pixie boots. Probably Dolcis.

And a cropped lilac leather jacket with batwing sleeves. I think I might still have it tucked away in a suitcase somewhere.

@CreateYourOwnUsername I remember it being a thing to wear dad jumpers. The kind of thing you’d see on presenters of Grandstand or Question of Sport. Argyle patterned, Pringle, or golf wear?!

A jumper with purple stripes that kind if blended into each other.

It cost £25 from Richard Shops in 1984 - my mum lent me the money and when I passed my O Levels she said I didn't need to pay her back 🤗.

Omg , Richard Shops ! Have just sung the song from the TV add - thanks for the memories x .

daffodilfan · 05/04/2024 19:09

@Eukanuba ...Richards shops for pretty things.....

Yeah, that was the thing! Definitely golf wear 😂

Ahwig · 05/04/2024 19:11

FU jeans that I had to do up with a coat hanger, my dad's old collarless police shirt and a pair of cowboy boots.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 05/04/2024 19:11

Reebok Pumps. A relative brought them back from America for me, and I was the absolute business very briefly.

I saw the ad being filmed outside the Bracknell branch. Loved Richard shops.

Leg warmers Grin

A pink ball gown type dress with delicate beads and a lace underskirt from h&m in the early 00s when the 50s style had just come in. I adored it. And a handmade flower hair accessory from an independent shop that I've still got. I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen for sale!!

Oooeeeoooaa · 05/04/2024 20:43

As my Christmas present in the early 90s, I got some Doc Martens, a long button up denim skirt and a choker. Thought I was the absolute shiz.

neilyoungismyhero · 05/04/2024 20:44

Mary quant dress
Levi jeans

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 06/04/2024 09:56

A black velvet jacket.

sockarefootwear · 06/04/2024 10:13

c1981- pastel pink rara skirt
c1985- cerise ski pants (the sort with elastic under the foot) with a cerise oversized shirt worn untucked with a chunky black belt loose across the hips. Accessorised with cerise plastic clip on earrings, bead necklace and bangles.

dudsville · 06/04/2024 10:41

Two come to mind instantly. I had a pair of cherry red button fly 501's. I also had a pair of white leather ankle boots, the top had a fold down but and there were studs imbedded in the leather. Oh and another, I had a co-ord peach tank top and skirt. Ah, they were wonderful things. I was tallish and so slim.

Papyrophile · 06/04/2024 14:29

Sunquest · 04/04/2024 19:02

Flared Levis worn with a tied at the waste cheesecloth shirt and an Afgan coat that stank when it got wet. My mum used to moan like mad about my stinking coat. Although all the patchouli oil I wore probably didn't help.

Edited

Are you my twin?

Love it 😀

Asiatoyork · 07/04/2024 09:44

Jeans with Batman and Robin on! And my goodness, yes to the padded reversible jumpers!!

Then my Levi’s cord coat with sheepskin lining.

Asiatoyork · 07/04/2024 09:45

Oh and my sambas with dresses (first time round)

tobee · 08/04/2024 19:32

Light brown jodhpur style trousers, they did up with buttons at the side "fly". Laces knee to ankle at the side. They were a lovely soft suedey material. I wore with an oversized cream shirt with grandad collar and a gold thread vertical stripes and a large cream arran jumper on own clothes day when I was about 14. Everyone else was wearing jeans and jumper the boring fuckers.

Obviously, it was prime New Romantic era and I was channeling my female Tony Hadley/Nick Heyward vibe.
