Send them back?

I ordered some clogs from Celtic and Co at Christmas but they were too small so I sent them back. The next size up was out of stock so I've had to wait. They arrived this morning and they just aren't the same as the ones they sent in the smaller size or the ones on their picture:

https://www.celticandco.com/womens/footwear/trainers-and-shoes/slip-on-clogs?colourid=909

I have emailed asking why they're a different colour and if it's a fault. I don't really like this colour so I think I'm going to have to send them back. I'm gutted as I loved the first pair they sent.

I've attached a photo. It's not just me is it? These are a completely different colour? They should be rust btw.

Send them back?

The pair you’ve received don’t look new?

OooScotland · 30/03/2024 23:00

If you’ve worn them at all you can’t send them back because you don’t like the colour. Those look well worn.

peachgreen · 30/03/2024 23:01

They look about a year old!

PrimalLass · 30/03/2024 23:02

Yes send them back. It looks like someone has sent you the pair they keep under their desk!

They have literally come straight out of the box. Never worn!

This was my first thought too!

In that case send them back as faulty, not because

These are a completely different colour.

They can refuse the return if you send them back stating ‘wrong /dislike colour’ (They’ll say you’ve worn them). If they genuinely arrived in that state they should have been deemed unsaleable and were clearly sent out by mistake. How I can’t imagine.

CheapThrillsMeanNothing · 30/03/2024 23:48

They looked creased and worn

If they were ordered online the customer has an absolute right to return goods for no reason.

Well, you’re the solicitor here so I won’t argue.

They might argue they have been worn as they look so bashed up but even then it's difficult to see how it would be possible to wear them to that extent in a couple of days.

PerfectTravelTote · 31/03/2024 00:25

Contact customer services asap and tell them that you have been sent an item that is obviously worn. You need to cover yourself in case they try to refuse your return on the assumption that you have worn them.

They look like they're from a charity shop!

BlossomBlossomBlossom · 31/03/2024 08:22

Was it a work experience school pupil having a larf? Hmm

They’re so worn the shop can’t possibly say you’ve caused it.

But I don’t understand why your post is about not liking the colour.

Arrestedmanevolence · 31/03/2024 09:03

You're buying animal skin so it's natural that the colour would differ slightly. It's a bit like wanting a set of oak chairs and demanding that they're all identical.

triggers34 · 31/03/2024 09:31

I've got those exact ones in that colour. That's the colour I ordered and received (tan) if you ordered rust they have sent the wrong ones. I can't tell if they have been worn - what do the soles look like?

ElleLeopine · 31/03/2024 09:35

The ones in your link are suede, and the ones you have received do not look like suede, they look like leather.

LadyEloise1 · 31/03/2024 09:41

The photo you posted is the worst advertisement ever for Celtic&Co.
Those clogs look worn / faded and nothing like the clogs advertised on their website.

I ordered the rust ones. I don't think they do tan anymore.

To be fair it is a terrible photo. The soles are look brand new and the leather doesn't look that bad in real life.

triggers34 · 31/03/2024 09:46

Apologies I've just looked at my order and I also ordered rust but they must have changed the photos on the website because I got the colour I wanted . I'd send them back.

ChaoticBag · 31/03/2024 10:09

I recently had to call them to ask if I could return some sandals I'd bought, but I'd accidentally missed the return window.
They could not have been more helpful or accommodating - sent me a return label immediately.
Call them and explain and I'm sure they'll sort it out for you. Looks like wrong box was sent out.

KottuKottuKottu · 31/03/2024 10:15

Like others I though they had been worn, but as you say they are not!

They are nothing like the other colour way to light, and the type of leather they are, they will mark/scratch easy, I too would send them back (but I do like the the style of them, love a clog)

ThatWhiteElephant · 31/03/2024 10:19

Comparing your picture to the link, they definitely look like they have sent you the wrong colour.
I also agree with other posters that they look like someone else's year old shoes!

lapochette · 31/03/2024 12:52

These do not look new, they look at least a year old and well worn. I would definitely return them.

paristotokyo · 31/03/2024 12:58

What do the soles look like? They look really worn 😬

KottuKottuKottu · 31/03/2024 13:26

Looking at your original photo again, the creases at the front of the clog where you bend your foot to walk look really quite worn, either that or so many people have tried them on and they look shabby even after not being worn. Maybe its a good thing and saved you £70 and get another brand.

Not a good advert for that particular brand to send them out like that.
