Microblading help!

Hello, so I decided to have my eyebrows micro bladed and found someone near me, who seemed good, to do it. I just wanted to have my sparse areas filled in but I am now worried they have gone too thick. My eyebrow artist has said it is a normal process of healing but they look too thick on day 1 of healing. I can’t find any evidence to say they won’t be as thick on the internet, only that the darkness will reduce. Does anyone have some Microblading experience to make me feel any better? Definitely feel like I made a mistake in having them done. Do I just need to stick out the healing process? Thanks

I'm not sure if I like mine yet OP. I left the Salon feeling a little panicked that one is higher than the other - and then I looked at before photos and realised my face is actually wonky 😂 I've been self conscious today about the darkness, but given I only had them down yesterday I think they'll end up ok

I think they look like they did a good job and they look symmetrical on the photo. Like myself, you felt panicked about how dark they are initially. Mine are definitely not symmetrical but I know she had a difficult job with that, as they weren’t the same before she started. I felt really self conscious for the first 3 days after and I was so pleased I took sometime off work but I definitely felt better about them today. They are now less red and even though I don’t want this to be the finished look, I stopped With that regret feeling and started to look on the bright side, that I dont have to do them in the morning! I also took some comfort in some of the internet articles I have read on the internet. They document the healing process and they do go a lot darker for the first few days after.

It's why I had mine done on Good Friday - a whole long weekend not having to see anyone 😂

There is a bit of a process that your brows will go through while your body adjusts/takes to the pigment. You should have a folllow up appointment in 4 to 6 weeks with your consultant once they have settled to see if there are any areas that jave not taken that need touching up.

Here is a picture my lady gave to me to explain the process. You might feel like in a few days time that your brows have completely disappeared but they will come back!

My lady doesn’t use the numbing cream as like another poster she says it can impact on the end result as in it can give the strokes a slightly smudged effect and make them look less precise. She also tells me not to drink alcohol the night before or have coffee or nurofen the morning of the treatment. This is because they can thin your blood which might make you bleed more.

Shetom · 30/03/2024 22:12

I used numbing cream. I put it on 30mins before my appointment and then my brow artist put it on during my appointment. I have been given a pot of KB Pro care and repair cream to use on them also if they become itchy. My most important aftercare instruction was to not get them wet for 2 weeks. I have seen that the aftercare differs a little from person to person online. I was also advised against anything that could thin your blood.

Hi OP. I was quite shocked when I first had mine done but they settled down and look fantastic now.
Just wanted to add that as they heal, it can sometimes look like there are bald patches, as if it hasn't 'taken'. I was warned to expect this and told that it's part of the process of the dye working its way into the system, so don't worry if this happens.
Also the top up appointment is really important for filling in any areas that need it.

I think yours look great - they did a fab job by the looks of it.

LadyBird1973 · 30/03/2024 22:21

Oh and don't pick any dry skin/scabs. That bit was really hard but you'll be glad you left it when you get the final result.

Yes, this was exactly what I was advised. Sounds like you went to the same place as me! I have to admit that I found the microblading process very painful indeed - I would love to have the numbing cream, people have told me it's a pleasant process when that's used, but my practitioner was very against it.

ChinChinDarlings · 02/04/2024 01:16

My point was, I had a scar that was filled in.

Two years down the line, you wouldn't know.

Toothbrushh · 02/04/2024 01:50

They always look mad for the first few days

Toothbrushh · 02/04/2024 01:52

Why can’t you get them wet? That means no washing your hair?!

I don’t know! This is just what I was advised! Yes, it has been very difficult to wash my hair, although I have managed once and I did not get them wet. It’s a good job it doesn’t need doing everyday. I was told to be careful of steamy showers/baths and doing exercise (which makes you sweat).

what is the aftercare advise others have been given? Have you been told not to get them wet? And if so for how long? Have you applied the after cream you were given?

I think not getting them wet for 2 weeks is excessive. I avoid getting them directly wet for the first 2 days but then continue to shower as usual after that. I use the fluid provided every 1-2 hours on days 1 and 2 and then drop down to 3 times per day there after until it runs out (usually lasts a week). I only use the cream if my brows have gone really dry and scraggy. The fluid is used to wipe away the lymph that the body produces to prevent the area from scabbing. It is also used to keep the area sterile to prevent infection. Avoiding excessive sweating, hot steamy baths/showers, exercising, products directly on the brow area etc is all in order to prevent from infection. But you can use your discretion. I exercise (including swimming) after around 4-5 days after. I just made sure I wiped directly after with the fluid to keep the area clean.

ABirdsEyeView · 02/04/2024 07:52

I had numbing cream, but no aftercare cream. Was told not to get them wet for 10 days. I think the lady who did mine considered it a good thing for eyebrows to scab over - she said it would heal faster to just let nature take its course. - the cream keeps eyebrows too moist apparently.

legalseagull · 03/04/2024 22:02

How are your brows looking OP? Happy?

Toothbrushh · 04/04/2024 02:11

Mine barely scabbed and why would they get infected

I’m thinking there’s a lot of fuss here. Just had mine done for the second time.

Shetom · 05/04/2024 18:35

Just flaking off now. Quite itchy and quite abit of scabbing and flaking. It’s now day 10

They look great - it'd be nice to see a 'before' as well. They'll fade a little, and settle, and you'll get used to them. When you wear eye makeup, mascara, etc., you'll probably think they look more 'in keeping', but honestly, I think they match your hair and look fab!

They look good 😀

I thought I’d like mine done, and I would, until I asked how much they cost. I was expecting around £100.

I don’t know where I plucked that figure from to be honest

And I can’t remember how much she quoted me now, but when she told me, I was so shocked, that she said that I could pay by instalments 🤣🤣🤣🤣
