Evening everyone. I'm starting this new thread at a bit of a sad time, and I know we're all thinking of Kate and her family. Let's hope that as we continue in our lighthearted way, good news arrives for her, and others who are in a similar situation, either themselves or loved ones.🌷

The Scandi approach to tiaras is much more enthusiastic than our lot's, IMO. Obviously the Pss of Wales is out of the picture at the moment, poor woman, but I hope Camilla will let a lot more of them have a rummage through the vaults. It would genuinely be lovely to see some of the more obscure ones being worn - look how excited we all got when the Strathmore Rose got its first outing in decades, after various people had speculated that it had been broken up to make other things.

I suspect it's a wig by the sheer volume and density.

I got confused - the State visit to Sweden isn't 'til next week.

Fred and Mary will set sail for Fredensborg today, to start their summer residency at the Chancellery House.

Sophie and Edward at the Royal Windsor horse show, Sarah Ferguson in New York, and the Spencer twins in appalling dresses.

The green one is quite fun, and also reminiscent of Kermit the Frog.

Or like those costumes people have when they're dressing up as foliage.
They're beautiful women, but I'm not keen on those outfits. I think Sophie has looked good on both days at the horse show. Quite country, but nice..

Yes, Carrie Johnson in red, and a Love Island star (Zara McDermott, I think her name is) in pink.

I think Sophie does lots of admirable work, so I don't want to be unkind, but that Royal Windsor show outfit is really dreadful. None of the colours, styles or textures co-ordinate at all. The black leather skirt is far too heavy with the lighter blazer, which in itself is far too long. The boots match neither the skirt nor the blazer.

The Spencer girls are beautiful, but the girl in the black halter neck gown behind them nails it in terms of elegance.

Yes, I liked Sophie’s outfit yesterday but not today. It all looks a bit mismatched.

The way the green dress on max shows up on my mobile screen above I actually thought it was Sophie, I was like ‘way! Amazing!’ Then I realised it was Max. Sophie has such a lovely engaging personality I think she could actually carry off much more flamboyant clothing. But I suppose that’s not her, so that’s fine too.

Presumably Fred and Mary sailing up to Fredensborg is just symbolic and they have already driven back to Copenhagen. Having four kids in full time education doesn't exactly fit with a summer residency away from your usual palace. However Margrethe might make use of it now it's officially open.

They'll be staying at Fredensborg throughout spring with the children. It's not far to get to Copenhagen from there. Although, is Isabella at a boarding school these days? Can't remember. Also don't actually remember what Christian is doing right now.

Daisy is in Fredensborg too, but she is at the palace itself, whereas Fred and Mary will continue to live at Kancellihuset, which was their first home together and is where they were living when each of their children were born (before they moved to their newly renovated/restored home at Amalienborg.

Oh dropped a parenthesis there...never mind!

They also didn't actually sail to Fredensborg itself - that was just me being hasty with what I was writing - they went to Helsingør (Elsinore), and presumably drove the rest of the way. I suppose the ship will stay moored there ready for departure to Sweden next week.
