Evening everyone. I'm starting this new thread at a bit of a sad time, and I know we're all thinking of Kate and her family. Let's hope that as we continue in our lighthearted way, good news arrives for her, and others who are in a similar situation, either themselves or loved ones.🌷

I love wide-legged trousers but Mary’s are wide-legged and flared, which could be why they look a bit odd. Stick to one or t’other Maz!

Choux · 13/04/2024 16:13

A friend who lives in Denmark says that Copenhagen is about a month behind London in terms of spring arriving.

I love a polo neck. It’s not the polo neck. It’s the black and grey and tweed I have a problem with. It’s doesn’t chime with the season and just looks a bit miserable for April 🤷‍♀️

KillingMeDeftIy · 13/04/2024 18:35

It’s single digits forecast for Copenhagen next week so I’m not surprised that Mary is still dressing for winter. I’m from warmer shores too and even after 20 years in the U.K. I feel the cold much more than British-born DP and DC.

Maireas · 13/04/2024 18:37

My husband is from a tropical country and is in his fleece generally up until July!

Yes but don’t you think the colour could be more cheerful? That’s my point 😆

Must be chilly in Stockholm too, judging from Queen Silvia's gorgeous fur-trimmed cape. I seriously love that cape. And I love her satin skirt too.

But I was thinking this is an example of why continuing to dye your hair into older age can have the reverse effect and be really ageing. I think the approach of Leti and Caroline of going grey looks much better. QS's hair looks odd against her face, to me.

Queen Silvia looks very glamorous, that's a great outfit.
It's so true about the hair. There comes a point where grey is more flattering than brown.

Yes, and the effect is heightened when your hair is dark. Queen Sonja of Norway is in her eighties and also dyes her hair but because she’s blonde it looks softer and less obvious.

LadyEloise1 · 13/04/2024 20:20

Lacorine do similar alpaca trimmed capes @MotherofPearl.

Oooh, thanks!

Completely agree about hair die. It also applies to men.

I do like a cape, Queen Silvia’s is lovely.

LadyEloise1 · 14/04/2024 08:29

For some reason men's hair dye isn't as successful as women's. It usually looks very fake. Or perhaps that's just badly applied hair dye and I haven't noticed the good hair dye jobs.

Remember someone talking about these fake collars. It's just popped up on my Instagram. Very pretty

I think women are more likely to go to a salon and a professional dye job always looks better as the stylist can add highlights and lowlights etc to make it look more natural.

Men just seem to reach for the Grecian 3000 in basic black!

KillingMeDeftIy · 14/04/2024 08:45

Even worse when men dye their moustache to match!

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 14/04/2024 09:31

Meghan on Palm Beach this weekend

Lovely floaty trousers and pretty Hermes flip flops. Not too keen on the shirt myself (I prefer balance so would have tucked the blouse into the oversized trousers, that’s just my preference!) but still a nice chic, casual look.

I like this outfit, cool and chic. I like those Hermes sliders. The trousers are baggy, but it works better in a lighter fabric, imo.

Saw this on another Meghan bashing thread. Cream dresses were obviously order of the day at the polo. Funny bit at the end where the lady wants to stand beside Harry and gets moved into a gap.

Maireas · 14/04/2024 12:49

Dr Sophie Chandauka - she's so chic in that form fitting white dress. Somebody gave details about her work on another thread - she's amazing.

I meant to add, she's the Chair of Sentebale.

She probably deserves to stand beside Harry then! Thanks @Maireas her dress is lovely

My friend used to go out annually for two months teaching children of all ages. She blagged equipment for the kids. Met harry a few times. Said that he was sincere, and all in with the children and communities. She's too old now, but says that it was so well run on an absolute shoestring
