What are THE softest pyjamas

I’ve realised my favourites are washed to death, soft and cosy and also falling apart. I like natural fabrics, not sweaty fleece or viscose or polyester. Need some super soft replacements!

M&S's cool comfort cotton and modal mix PJs are so soft and comfortable. I have a pair from a previous collection and they've washed really well. I tried to get a pair from the current collection but when my order turned up they forgot to include the bottoms, and now they're out of stock in my size Hmm

Viscose is a natural fabric

Viscose is a natural fabric

I know but find it doesn’t wash or wear especially well, creases easily

Edited

I second this because I have both pairs and they're lovely and soft. And stylish! 😉

I'm gutted the green pair are out of stock in Small. They're not even in stock in any branches near me. I originally ordered a medium which is what my other 50/50 cotton modal pair are, but these were a lot more generous so had to send them back. I could've cried when I received the replacement without bottoms. I think me and these PJs are just not meant to be Sad

CarpeVitam · 12/03/2024 22:42

@arcticseasalt, keep checking, very regularly! I usually 'get lucky' with items coming back into stock.

Dilbertian · 12/03/2024 23:38

Anything from Lands End in Supima cotton or in cotton-viscose mix. No lace or embroidery. All my PJs and nighties are now from them. (Except for one set of brushed cotton-viscose flannelette PJs from Costco - but they are only for the very coldest winter nights.)

Bamboo pyjamas are very soft.

purser25 · 13/03/2024 09:02

Popsy are very soft

Both modal and bamboo are types of viscose though.

Popsy are very soft

But they're made of polyester, and hideously sweaty...

BeansMeansBeans · 13/03/2024 15:45

Surprised nobody has said British boxers.. they do the most amazing brushed cotton pyjamas ever! I grab them in the sale for about £50, so not unreasonable.
Muji also do wonderful pyjamas with a special design where seams don't protrude at all, so super comfortable

CinnamonJellyBeans · 13/03/2024 16:33

Polyester or viscose are diabolical fabrics for pyjamas.

Chelsea Peers. Bought mine following mumsnet recommendations. 100% yet very soft.

Ladyofthelake53 · 13/03/2024 17:10

I bought a few sets of pjs in Cyber Jammies sale, lovely material and nicely packaged

useitorlose · 13/03/2024 17:30

The ones they give you in first class on a long haul Emirates flight are amazing. I brought them home and wear them all the time! Disclaimer: DH is a frequent flyer and platinum member and blagged an upgrade!

The huge toilet bags with perfume and other nice things are very nice too..dh always asks if he can have an extra one for women too. 😅

arcticseasalt · 13/03/2024 19:10

For me, the perfect PJs are soft and have the tiniest amount of stretch (which modal seems to have naturally), too much stretch and they're uncomfortable and lose their shape. PJs containing fabric described as viscose, rather than modal (which I know is a variant of viscose), take FOREVER to dry and also have a tendency to lose shape. 100% crisp cotton has a tendency to shrink in the wash and I find the lack of stretch uncomfortable. Polyester is just wrong. Silky polyester is both wrong and evil. Yes I am a bit obsessed.

Synergies · 13/03/2024 19:17

Nothing is as soft as ancient, washed-a-thousand-times jammies. But a close second for me are ones I bought from:

  • Sleepy Doe
  • White Company

Super soft brushed cotton with a touch of stretch. Extra large and roomy Smile
