The buttery Amazon leggings!!

dothehokeycokey · 02/03/2024 12:56

Just wanted to post as I caught a thread on here a few days ago about the best buttery leggings out there that aren't extortionate.

Lots of posters recommended the Amazon ones with a link.

Anyhow and as per usual when I see a recommendation here I duly logged on and bought a pair.

They were £8.50 Star

So they turned up yesterday and I remembered this morning so chucked them on after a shower and wow they are the most comfiest and best fitting leggings I've actually bought and I've bought many many pairs over the years ranging in price from £5 upto £75.

Wel see how well they wash and dry but so far so good

I have no idea if this is just an effective sales technique, but I've just bought some.

Do they hold you in? Make your legs look good?! I like soft but I like to feel streamlined!

No they don’t hold you in at all. And they’re v long (I’m 5ft 6 and they bunch around my ankles). I’ll be returning them.

also, buttery soft? Boak.

Mabelface · 02/03/2024 15:23

I've just bought some, coming tomorrow. Was looking for leggings as recently there's a little bit more of me to love since quitting smoking. 😉

Daffodilsandtuplips · 02/03/2024 15:24

The fabric is not shiny like Gym leggings and nor is it that awful jersey type that go baggy at the knees.
It feels soft, almost silky to the touch, quite smooth. Mine haven’t gone baggy or see through or bobbly, still as good as the day I bought them 2 years ago, I bought a new pair recently and the only thing that has faded on the old pair is the label.

Why are they buttery? Gives a very greasy image in my head 😱 are they yellow? What’s going on?!

Exactly what I was wondering.

Scarletttulips · 02/03/2024 15:29

Both linked pairs are hand wash only.

Not for me.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/03/2024 15:43

I bought these too <<Sheeeeeep>>

14 bottom half , I bought the L/XL size
Not tried them yet .

I noticed the handwash , but i have loads of handwash items that go in a laundry bag on a 30 delicates cycle .
Life is too short to handwash ( and I don't own silk or cashmere so no worries there )

Have you never heard the term buttery when used for clothes? Surprised at that, it’s commonly used for leather items. It just means soft.

EndlessVortex · 02/03/2024 15:49

I saw the term ‘buttery’ and hopped on to see if these are the leggings I swear by- they are!

Can totally vouch for these, I’ve been using them since I got pregnant with my daughter in 2021. They are great - nice and soft, not see through, comfy and don’t slip down. Also to the PP who said they are hand wash only, they’ve been though the wash loads of times and they are fine!

One final point- they also make them with pockets….

Does anyone know what size for a size 16?

It doesn't really matter what size you are as both their small to medium & large to extra large fit me as a size 16.

I've been wearing them for years & wash at 40 degrees with no shrinkage.

I'm not so keen on the ones with pockets.

AnonyLonnymouse · 02/03/2024 13:19

I have these but tbh they are only really good for loungewear use. No ‘holding in’ power, zero elastane and not at all to be compared to proper exercise leggings.

Sorry but the term ‘buttery’ is also really off putting - what on earth are people thinking using a term for a form of fat for an item of clothing? Not that it reminds me of a notorious abusive film scene or anything.

<whispers> I think its a fetish. There's been a few threads started about "buttery" leggings lately probably by blokes 🤮

AnonyLonnymouse · 02/03/2024 16:40

@GordoStevensMustache
Oh dear God, perhaps I wasn’t too far off course!

bleurghbleurghbleurgh · 02/03/2024 16:49

I hate them, they literally attract every single piece of fluff and particle in the air and it doesn't actually wash off, need a good go with a lint roller before wearing, and ain't nobody got time for that.

Twotooto · 02/03/2024 17:00

I also bought a pair after reading - nothing like following the crowd 😂

figured I couldn’t go too far wrong for for the price, I will mostly be wearing them round the house though!

JanewaysBun · 02/03/2024 17:17

What sizes have people got? I see S/M is the smallest, what size are you normally if youre wearing this size?

WittyMotherhoodRelatedPun · 02/03/2024 17:41

No worries about the one size leggings, even your big thighs or a small figure, these leggings will definitely fit and make you look attractive.

It’s a miracle!

cakewitch · 02/03/2024 17:48

Me too! Love them.. am going to slowly replace all my baggy old ones with these. And yes, they are buttery!

Newgolddream70 · 02/03/2024 17:52

I did the same OP! Love them 😊

…no, it’s just a way to describe soft clothes. As someone said above, usually used to describe really soft leather items.

Minikievs · 02/03/2024 17:56

I read the same thread and mine are currently in transit Grin

LividBath · 02/03/2024 18:00

Anyone more like an 18 and fit in the pocket ones in L-XL? They’ve only got shit colours in the biggest pocket size…

cleavel · 02/03/2024 18:04

I bought some off the back of that thread too. They're see through!

The best leggings ever are Loveall. Save your 8.50 and put it towards some of those instead. They're not see through, they hold you in, they don't bag at the knee, don't fall down and wash fantastically.

PilatesPeach · 02/03/2024 18:07

I have them - got them a couple of years ago only worn once. They are very soft yes but they are really loungewear imo - the waist comes up really high and I am an 8-10 and the s-m is ok but not tight. They are not for the gym - I teach classes inc yoga and Pilates and I would not wear them for classes. They are not designed to stay up if exercising and the crutch ends up low when I tried them for classes. Yes they do pick up lint and hairs etc.

I looked at the at site and got overwhelmed! Which ones are the best soft, black, not shiny leggings??

winniethepooped · 02/03/2024 18:11

They're amazing!

I bought them 6 months ago when I was preggers after a MN recommendation!

Tight. Soft. Wash well. Non see through. Comfy. Hold shape. BUTTERY!! 😂
