I really like them. What would you wear them with?

I'm very monochrome. So my clothes are generally black, occasionally white or dark green.
I like footwear to pop out a bit!

They're not out there enough for me! But they are very lovely in a muted, understated way. I just can't get over how expensive trainers have become.

I hear you. I could definitely go more 'out there' but I don't know what to get.. I need something comfy and so far I haven't found anything...

Yay definitely! Love them.

Eh? There's nothing remarkable about them or even stand out. They're a pair of Nike trainers with a little leopard print on them. Hardly anything outrageous.

If you like them, buy them.

I hear you. What would you suggest? I'm looking for something new.

Oh i love these I keep looking at them but can’t justify the cost at the moment!

Honestly, I'm quibbling at the cost too 🙈

It's a no from me. They look very 'woman of a certain age trying to look funky' to me. I'd go for something colourful if you want to stand out.

I know what you mean but for me, at 52, I am an older woman in fashion terms. I'm not pretending to be young and there's no need for me to wear authentically youthful styles.

I still want to wear brands, cool stuff etc. If it looks 'older woman trying to be funky' then so be it really.

AsTheyPulledYouOutOfTheOxygenTent · 01/03/2024 12:27

I'm with MidnightMeltdown, I think they're dated and aging. You did ask.

Really? Dated and aging? I'm happy to hear opinions. Just don't see why you would think that?

I don't really know, it's just a gut reaction. When I picture a woman who would wear them then the image in my mind is my age or older (mid to late fifties) but image-conscious. But I've never been one for animal prints so I'm biased.

SirChenjins · 01/03/2024 12:53

I’m not keen - remove the Nike logo and imo they look like the kind of thing you’d find in the sale in Primark

EverydayParis · 01/03/2024 12:54

Yay.

I think what @AsTheyPulledYouOutOfTheOxygenTent means is that it’s what people our age are wearing, not 15-28yo. So unfortunately could be described as “dated and aging”. But there’s nothing wrong with them!

I like them, they’re not too out there at all and very in keeping with what millennial age group are wearing.

MorrisZapp · 01/03/2024 12:56

OP stated she's 38. I don't imagine she expects her footwear to make her twenty years younger.

funkydosintherain · 01/03/2024 12:56

@AsTheyPulledYouOutOfTheOxygenTent completely understandable!

I don't disagree actually 🙈 they're so overpriced!

They are Air max 1s, loads of people in the above age group wears them. Maybe it depends where you live?

greglet · 01/03/2024 13:32

Love them!

henlake7 · 01/03/2024 13:40

I really like them. Very much my style though...Im a big fan of patterned/brightly coloured tennis shoes or baseball boots with cargos or jeans.
Im over 50 and couldnt give a rats arse wether I look dated or fashionable!!LOL

LunaNorth · 01/03/2024 13:40

Love em.

DSD9472 · 01/03/2024 13:41

Its a no from me.

They look like platforms about 1inch higher than they should be, plus I can't stand animal print. Sorry, but they look like £5 worth, not £145!

idontlikealdi · 01/03/2024 13:43

Love them.

Fair play. They are definitely not everyone's taste. I absolutely agree that the price is outrageous!

How is Nike sizing? I'm 6.5 and usually go up to 7 in New Balance.

FartSock5000 · 01/03/2024 14:12

@funkydosintherain the only opinion that matters is your own. Wear what makes you feel like a queen and gives you confidence.

Personally, I love them. They look fun and comfy. I'm 44 this year and would rock them.

Do you and don't second guess yourself. I bet you are fabulous!
