Tiny boobs - Pepper, Little Women, recommendations please

I'm 36AA, possibly AAA, and I just want a decent bra. I've looked at Pepper which is fairly expensive, and Little Women slightly less so, but wondered if any of the small boob family out there can give me some advice. I've just bought a pack of two bras today from M&S but the padding is minimal and my nipples are showing through. Also, as they're 'first bras' they do look slightly child like... Surely there's a fair few of us out there who need small bras??? Or is it just me 😭

I mostly just don't wear a bra... That is not of help to you.

NoMumLeftBehindLiz · 22/02/2024 17:05

Friend with "tiny boobs" recommends Sloggi - says it's like wearing a cloud.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 23/02/2024 09:15

Ooo, thanks for the Sloggi tip @NoMumLeftBehindLiz I'll have a look

I think you need to go to an independent bra fitter and get professionally fitted. I doubt that you are a 36AA.

I thought I was a 34A for years, then a 32B. After a professional fit I now wear a 32D, yet I still look modest of boob, but look better for wearing the correct size.

What is your underbust measurement? Is it really 36 inches?

starbrit · 23/02/2024 09:24

Where did you have your bra fit @RampantIvy ? I am also small of boob and just wear the bralets from Primark when I'm at home and then H&M bras when I go to work (used to think I was 36A, then 34b but now think I need a proper fit)

RampantIvy · 23/02/2024 09:25

A local and utterly brilliant independent lingerie shop. If you are anywhere in the Sheffield or Huddersfield area I'll give you the details.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 23/02/2024 09:26

@RampantIvy Well I definitely can't get into a 34 inch bra, and most of my 36 inch ones I have to put on the biggest hook. I just have quite a wide chest but little boobs. Where would I go to get measured? There's only really M&S near me that would do it, but they don't do any of the smaller cup bras...

Ooo, my friend lives in Huddersfield, so next time I visit I can have a look @RampantIvy

Sometimes it is because the cups are too small. Believe me, I was very sceptical, but absolutely thrilled when I found that I was wearing the wrong size, even though my bra was comfortable. The cup size on a 36AA will be the same as the cup size on a 34A or a 32B.

As a rough guide your band side is your dress size + 20, so a 36 band would make you a size 16.

This website is really helpful:

Best advice of all Do NOT get measured at M and S. The staff don't know the correct way to measure bra sizes.

Ooo, I've found one near me. I remember seeing her adverts on the back of buses when I was younger. She's still going! Sadie the Bra Lady 😃

I'll also do the Boob or Bust thing tonight 🙏

I am almost completely flat chested and I wear these Sloggi bras. They are so comfortable after years of wearing uncomfortable underwire bras to try and give me some shape. They are slightly padded so give me a bit of a curve in tighter tops. I love them.

Hahaha, I got my wedding lingerie from Sadie the bra lady. 27 years ago. She measured by eye.

RampantIvy · 23/02/2024 17:31

Pur bra specialist doesn't use a tape measure either. She asks you your dress size then measure by eye.

Sweetheart7 · 23/02/2024 17:36

Primark OP!!

bunhead1979 · 23/02/2024 17:39

I like sloggi too. I also am quite slim but broad with wide ribs but small boobs. I tried boob or bust and have been measured various places, but they always end up with a tight band and trying to make it look like i have bigger boobs- I find this uncomfy and i don't mind having small boobs, i don’t want to feel scaffolded when there is really nothing to scaffold.

Lovetotravel123 · 23/02/2024 17:41

Me too! I have a few bralettes from Pink but will try the Sloggi ones.

RampantIvy · 23/02/2024 18:02

I like the look of those Sloggi bras, but I don't like the way those sizes are listed XS, S, M, L. How can you get a decent fit?

pharmachameleon · 23/02/2024 18:31

@RampantIvy I ordered both the small and XS from Amazon then returned the one that didn't fit. I kept the small-I'm a size 8 and prob a 34A however the XS would be fine too.

RampantIvy · 23/02/2024 18:33

I'm a size 8 and prob a 34A

If you are a size 8 you probbly aren't a 34A. You are more likely a 30C or even a 28D.

The cup siz on a 34A is the same as the cup size on a 30C BTW.

Misty999 · 23/02/2024 18:38

I'm really small and tried 34A and double A cups for years. All the specialist small companies but everything gaped on the cups. Got measured and I'm a 30DD much better fit.

pharmachameleon · 23/02/2024 18:42

@RampantIvy I did the Boob or Bust thing and just found the smaller bra band soooo tight! It did help to give me a slight cleavage but I never wear anything low cut so I don't really see the point of tolerating a tight band with squashed boobs in a cup if I only wear high neck clothes. I prefer my bra to be looser and more comfortable and maybe a bit more padded to give me some shape.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 23/02/2024 18:58

Omg! Just come across the tape measure while making the tea so did a quick measure under my boobs, over the top of a vest. 30!!!! I've been buying 36A for bloody years!!! 30 inches! Right, I am booking a fitting for next week and sorting this out once and for all 🙈

To join in with those saying people are wearing the wrong size.

My breasts are attractively described as shallow and wide. They don’t protrude much so with clothes on I’m in the ‘small boobs’ club, but the actual breast tissue is spread across my chest. I also have a fairly narrow chest which is what often causes the gaping that makes people think their bra is too big.

i wear a 32D I’m sure most would look at me and think ‘D? Don’t be silly they’re not big enough’ but that’s a misunderstanding of what the cup sizes mean.

Maiyakat · 23/02/2024 19:17

I like After Eden bras, different levels of padding and don't look like they've come from the teenage section. Not sure if anyone stocks them in store, I buy online.
