I am genuinely baffled by Florence Pugh on the red carpet.

She is a gorgeous girl with a nice figure but always shoehorns herself into an unflattering sack. I can't work out if it is a fashion choice and she thinks she is being "edgy" or if she deliberately wants to be on the worst dressed list so people bother to talk about her.

I just said the same thing! I think she's trying to be edgy but it doesn't come across as being true to herself. Perhaps it's because she's trying to do two things at once - trying to fit in with the film star conventions as well as trying to be edgy. Perhaps she should opt for one or the other. I have a feeling that if she were to be truly edgy it might pay off. I don't like Emma Corrin's outfit, but it feels authentically her, doesn't it?

Margot Robbie could wear the proverbial bin bag and still look good, but I don't like that dress. It looks a bit like Barbie's idea of bondage wear (or whatever you call it)

IMHO: the worst for the night goes to David Tennant!! What was he thinking. What bizarre collection of jackets.

Sophie ellis bextors outfit is fun and she looks happy. So that's my favourite

She looks like a glamorous 1970s diva housewife who spends the day in her negligee.

Alexander Payne looks as if he's put on weight since he was measured for that and has had to wear someone bigger's trousers.

I thought we weren’t commenting on bodies?

It's a shame we can't actually vote. Then we could have our own MN BAfta fashion award.

I like Emily Blunt's dress (that has to be one of the cleverest dresses I have ever seen on an award show) I love the way the flesh colour is actually her flesh colour. It's amazing. I really hate what Florence Pugh wears to awards shows - the clothes seem to be wearing her somehow. Love Lashana Lynch's look - there is a very elegant Deepika Padukone in a stunning dress, Rosamund Pike's dress is also classy. Of the men Rami Malek, Ryan Gosling, Calman Domingo, Andrew Scott and Cillian Murphy all made a good effort. I should include Brad Cooper because, although I think he looks like a ship's captain, at least he made and effort and didn't leave it to the women to be the only clothes horse.

I bet they all looked brilliant in the flesh, though.

It is such a shame there is not a way to have a voting system! That will make these threads much more fun if we get to know the final verdict.

I wonder if we could do something unofficially for the Oscars where people write clearly in their post who they vote for as best dressed and we tot up at the end.

For me, my final best dressed of the night goes to Emily Blunt, with Andrew Scott as best dressed male.

🤣

This is the perfect description of it. It was a good fun look though.

One more comment and then I'll get back to work I promise. Emma Stone's dress is like a deconstruction of the different elements of home furnishings: You have net curtains around her legs, the detail at the bottom is a deconstructed duvet, the bodice is like posh armchair material. I'm not sure about the puffy bit on the shoulder...could be a deconstruction of those vintage dolls they used to have to cover the bog roll.

Let's do it. I would even vote to help with the totting up.

Awful Joshua Kane designs strike again. His wife was swamped in an ugly gold number too. Bad year for fashion (I only liked Carey Mulligan's outfit this year)

It's not in the photos above but I thought Gillian Anderson looked great in her green dress.

I reckon the puff sleeve could be a bit of 90s curtain pelmet or divan bed valance 🤣

It wasn't intended to be a comment on his body, simply on the fit. sorry I didn't make that clear
