Plus size special dress

Any recommendations of online stores to try? I've become an expert deliveries roundabout returning clothes that don't fit or suit me.

I have a very special occasion coming up and I'm looking for a gorgeous midi dress. Happy to spend the money for something flattering - not completely black preferably - as it's very draining on my skin tone. Greens, blues, purples or gold good tones for me. Not red or orange or yellow tones.

I'm not keen on the 50s looks. I'm an apple so better something that's not trying to nip in to my non-existent waist. Maybe something flowy, boho, patterned. Can go up to £1k for something really special.

Any leads?

Oh and despite my size I am a bit trendy as far as it goes for someone plus size. Think wide leg trousers, jeans and trainers with long wool overcoat, dresses with ankle boots. Gold jewellery, good bags.

I've got bespoke dresses from Donald Stanley (see Instagram). Also Isolated Heroes. I've worn these to military balls.

Have a look on Vinted for brands you like, I've had a few stunning gowns from there for peanuts (I'm a size 24).

I've had a couple of surprise successes with the Blue Vanilla range in new look so that's worth a look. I'm 5ft 8 and a very apple shaped size 22.

Just bought one from pretty kitty, just those colours. Wasn't expensive but looks lovely
