Should I return this wedding dress?

I never thought I would get a strapless dress and although I feel great it in, I have read a lot of comments that strapless looks terrible - especially if you don't have the slimmest figure! Sometimes I think something looks good and it doesn't. Though I'm hoping to lose a few more pounds, do I have the shoulders for this strapless dress?? I have one week to decide, or do I add thin straps when I get it tailored? TIA

Should I return this wedding dress?

You look gorgeous, if you feel good and comfortable in it, keep it!

ageingdisgracefully · 11/02/2024 08:45

I think it looks stunning.

rockingbird · 11/02/2024 08:46

I think it looks beautiful on you!!

QueSyrahSyrah · 11/02/2024 08:46

I would keep it purely for the POCKETS, but it also looks great 😊

Maireas · 11/02/2024 08:47

The most important thing is - do you like it and feel good in it?
It's a lovely dress, and you look great, there's nothing wrong with your shoulders and you don't seem overweight.
I think strapless just seems a bit dated now, but if you love it, go for it. I wouldn't add straps, it would look a bit imbalanced.

Mrsjayy · 11/02/2024 08:47

your shoulders look fine of course you can wear it. do you love it ? if so then keep it, again your shoulders are fine.

boyohboys · 11/02/2024 08:47

Looks lovely and you've got a beautiful smooth décolleté so go show it off.

One2Four · 11/02/2024 08:47

Looks amazing on you, and do I see pockets too? Gorgeous dress, love it on you :)

GingerLiberalFeminist · 11/02/2024 08:47

It looks beautiful.
Do lots of boxes exercises to boost your shoulders x

HermioneWeasley · 11/02/2024 08:48

You look great and thin straps always look bloody awful so please don’t add them!

HoweverWeare · 11/02/2024 08:48

It looks lovely but can you move around loads and be comfortable without hoiking it up? Are your boobs going to fall out or it fall down, just be sure it’s a secure comfortable fit, you don’t want to be thinking about it when you are wearing it. Enjoy your day.

cheeseyeasy · 11/02/2024 08:48

It looks beautiful.
I think strapless are a problem when you have huge breasts and not enough structure, so those brides you see constantly hauling their top up to keep their boobs in.

babbaganoush · 11/02/2024 08:49

It looks beautiful on you just as it is. I can't bear it when strapless dresses don't fit over the bust but this looks like it fits you really well.

HardcoreLadyType · 11/02/2024 08:50

It looks lovely and it has pockets!

MoreLidlThanWaitrose · 11/02/2024 08:50

It’s beautiful and looks like it fits you really well. your figure looks lovely in it.

I’m not the biggest strapless fan but I genuinely think that this looks great on you. I really like the structuredness (I can’t really think of the word… it looks kind of sturdy and luxurious?) of the bodice

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 11/02/2024 08:51

Wedding dresses are structured and don’t fall down. I’m not well endowed with boobage and my strapless dress didn’t need pulling up.

It looks fine. The only question is is this your wedding dress? If you can’t wait to put it on and don’t want to take it off then it’s your dress.

Einevinefine · 11/02/2024 08:52

You have a great figure. It all depends on whether you feel this you “wow” dress imo.

Do you have time to change dress for another or is it just a case of adjusting by putting on straps?

You don’t need to lose weight.

How is your hair going to be styled? Will you have a veil? Is there a train to this dress?

I love looking at wedding dresses hence the many enquiries!

OneFunnyDog · 11/02/2024 08:54

You look bloody amazing. Don't change a thing.

MaggieFS · 11/02/2024 08:54

POCKETS!!

It looks great and you look fab. How do you feel?

I think straps would spoil the lines of it, it's got really nice shaping and isn't low cut in a "woo hoo look at my baps" way.

Key thing for me would be to make sure it's a great fit with decent boning so it will stay absolutely where it is and you won't feel self conscious or need to pull it up. Wedding dresses are normally pretty good at this, but have a practice boogie flinging your arms up and down and practice raising a lowering as it putting your arms up to someone to give them a greeting kiss on the cheek. If it stays put, you're in business.

redboots765 · 11/02/2024 08:55

I like it. If you want to tone your arms more, there's a really good workout on YOUTUBE the channel is Tone it up.

They have lots of ten minuet workouts, I got fabulous arms for a wedding, doing two per day.

ScarlettDarling · 11/02/2024 08:56

Gorgeous!!!!

Traceability · 11/02/2024 08:56

Thank you all! I got very concerned when I typed in strapless dresses and every post was negative eek! But the bodice is very structured.

I have one week to decide if I want to keep it (off the rack) but as someone has said - I just don't want to take it off - not least because it has pockets and a side slit!

I have no idea about the hair - I thought it would need to be up if it's strapless but OH always sees me with a bun and loves my hair down. Unsure what to do in that respect.

I feel like I look silly in a veil so not keen but there is a train! I think I would have to get a bustle?

It’s the perfect dress! I love it, you look stunning. Congratulations 🥳 I wouldn’t add anything, the simplicity of it is what makes it so elegant

Thisoneisneutral · 11/02/2024 08:57

It fits you really well.

I added straps to mine as I have small breasts and was not confident it would stay up.

if you feel secure in it and like it, then wear as is.

Littleladybugs · 11/02/2024 08:57

Thin straps often dig in so would not be flattering, I think the dress is beautiful and really suits you how it is , you look lovely
