I think it also will look appalling on over 40s (like me).

Leopard as a neutral tends to mean it’s pretty versatile as part of a colour palette. You can wear with black / camel / cream as well as brighter colours (red, evergreen).

Suggesting a fur coat might not look good on over 40s is bizarre though.. women of every decade suit them. I see women in their 80s wearing them looking fabulous.

I've already said it but no woman of any age looks fabulous in a fur coat.

But on the other hand, whilst it's not my thing Kat Slater style fake leopard can look brilliant if it's worn with a confident swagger.

The article linked by OP says unapologetic fur coats. Not sure why anyone would be apologetic about wearing fake fur (quite the opposite really) so I guess it's referring to the pelts of dead tortured animals.

I don't generally believe in "dressing for your age" but if anything the look the OP is on about may well look better on over 30 / 40 as under that age it might be a bit playing with the grown-ups' dressing up box.

I love this look. I don’t personally wear it, but I am beyond depressed by how dull and shapeless fashion has become. I’m all for the return of bling, glitz, fur and eyeliner!

My 16yo is embracing it bless her, she's saved up to get herself a nice faux fur coat (after much unsuccessful begging for me to get my great grandmother's full length real mink Cruella DeVille-esque coat down from the loft).

It doesn't suit me at all, but I wish it did. I'd love a bit of mob glamour.

There's a scene in Orange is the New Black where an ageing, very unwell woman with no hair left escapes from jail. She's driving the stolen laundry truck like a bat out of hell to leave the shit behind her. Her favourite old song comes onto the radio and in her mind she's young again. We see her transformed: lush hair, fabulous makeup, jangling bangles, handling the steering wheel like a pro. It make me cry! She refound her mob wife 😭

Not my style at all but I can see the confidence and fuck it all attitude it can give others. Sometimes we need that!

Op is a bit of a bellend. Over 40s are a diverse group you know.

I've friends who've followed this groove forever and who carry it off brilliantly. It is not what, but how you wear clothing, at any age and if it floats your boat, then go for it, as life is too short to worry about how you dress imo.

It's shearling. I'm never sure what shearling is. I suppose it does involve killing the animal but is shearling a by product or the first purpose ?

Yes, that's what I thought. I googled it and it said it was shearling.

Shearling is a by product of the meat industry. I don't eat sheep but I do accept there'd be a lot less of them if nobody did, so it comes down to quality of life and a quick and easy death (I'd ban all live exports)

That coat doesn't look like shearling/ sheepskin. If it is, it's been tarted up to look like fur rather than sheepskin.
