Morning! I'm starting a new thread before I go to work as it may get filled before this evening.

That was lovely on JLaw.

But overall I thought this year’s Oscar gowns were fairly underwhelming. There were some which were nice but none that really wowed me. The advent of the stylists means everyone is too damn tasteful these days!

Maireas · 11/03/2024 09:42

Jennifer Lawrence looks good - I would think polka dots are normally day wear, but I think Dior have created a nice look here.
No meat dresses this year!

The polka dot dress is gorgeous, could see Catherine wearing something like that.

QueryA · 11/03/2024 11:03

Meghan seems to be out and about a lot more on 'official' engagements. Nothing particularly stunning fashion wise.

I'm really missing the big bling at the moment. Even the oscars didn't do it for me. I miss QEII and her lovely diamond brooches. Oh for some lovely 1950s proper glamor.

Those Chanel shoes make her feet look really weird from the side angle!

justasking111 · 11/03/2024 11:25

The black look at the Oscars thought everyone was in mourning

gingercat02 · 11/03/2024 14:48

I'm just watching the Commonwealth service.
Sophie has a beautiful cream coat on. Anne is in a red patterned coat (possibly brocade).
The Queen is a blue coat and a teal hat, which I suspect she has worn before, and The Boots, and an epic brooch. William is with her as you would expect.

Papergirl1968 · 11/03/2024 16:06

Anne, Sophie and Geri Halliwell. Not entirely sure why she was there but I like her outfit.

I like Anne's hat, it's unusual that she adds a bit of drama (outside of a uniform). I like Sophie's look.

Anne's coat is interesting! Geri Spice in white, no surprise there. She's probably some sort of Commonwealth ambassador? Will check.

Ooh. Geri Horner. Why does she always wear white? Even in the pits at the F1 which can’t be the most dirt free place. What is she trying to tell us?

LadyEloise1 · 11/03/2024 16:09

I like Anne's coat but I don't think the hat matches it.

Maireas · 11/03/2024 16:11

Geri is an ambassador for the Commonwealth society and attends every year.

Been watching it with DDad who is recovering from surgery. He wasn't too into the fashion commentary 😂
I thought Cams looked absolutely fabulous in her blue coat. Lovely colour and very cohesive look. Same for Sophie - she looked very smart, warm and stylish.
Not as sure about Anne's outfit, found it a bit garish personally, although top marks for being a bit different (why not be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons!?)
Nice to see William and Edward too.
Does anyone know'who the couple were behind Anne? The lady was wearing a lovely grey coat with a black ruff?

Eaumyword · 11/03/2024 16:35

*or seagulls or whatever the phrase is 😂🙈

QueryA · 11/03/2024 16:36

I liked Sophie's coat. I also liked Camilla's brooch. Well, I wouldn't wear it myself, but I always appreciate stonking big gems.

I came on to ask the same, that coat is gorgeous with the big band at the hem and a gorgeous fit from the back.

Maireas · 11/03/2024 16:40

Birgitte Gloucester looks chic in her taupe/brown coat and neat hat.

Maireas · 11/03/2024 16:44

Has anyone got a picture of the woman in the grey coat with a ruff? Maybe we can identify her.

DuchessOfPort · 11/03/2024 16:46

Love Sophie’s coat - Anne’s is Shibumi I think, a rewear - poss previously racing.

QueryA · 11/03/2024 16:53

Is it not The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester? (Brigitte). She is wearing a taupe/grey (depending on the lighting) coloured coat with a deep furr band at the bottom and fur round the neck.

Lifestooshort71 · 11/03/2024 16:55

I love Anne's look! Great colours!

She looks great. I often think, of anyone, Birgitte certainly didn't expect to have a prominent royal role, but for the tragic death of Richard's elder brother, William.

I think Anne's coat is for colder weather while the hat screams summer wear to me.
Together they are a bit incongruous.

Papergirl1968 · 11/03/2024 17:04

Here are the Duchess of Gloucester and Camilla.
