Morning! I'm starting a new thread before I go to work as it may get filled before this evening.

Max's grey spider brooches are really creepy

Eaumyword · 24/01/2024 17:20

I love the the insect/arachnid brooches the aristocracy wear - thinking Debo Devonshire etc.
But Max's are so realistic, they look terrifying!😱

Maireas · 24/01/2024 17:24

Evening everyone! Lovely you can all join us!
The previous thread wasn't quite filled and we've been discussing Meghan's look on there, mostly concurring with points above.
I love an insect brooch!

I think Meghans top almost looks too big? It looks like the straps are set too wide iyswim which off balances the look of it imo.

Not a criticism of Meghan (what anyone chooses to do with their body is their own business) but I wonder how people who have work done explain it to their kids particularly if they're small? Must be an absolute minefield with body image etc. not to mention the brutal honesty of young kids - I'm imagining 'mummy what's happened to your face' etc! I still remember my (much younger) brother crying for a full 20 mins after he first saw me with my hair permed!

GrouchyKiwi · 24/01/2024 18:35

She looks more like herself in the photo on the BBC article, just her eyebrows are a lot darker and thicker, so I wonder if that's all that it is.

MotherofPearl · 24/01/2024 18:44

Thanks @Maireas for our new thread about threads. Lots to catch up on I see!

So far I want to say that I love Meghan's skirt and top. That's one of my favourite silhouettes; it's one I wear myself (though seldom go anywhere smart enough these days).

MotherofPearl · 24/01/2024 18:46

I do love Max's bold (!) style, but those huge and quite realistic insect and spider brooches give me the shudders.

justasking111 · 24/01/2024 13:04

A lioness today. Suits her

I think the top is giraffe print! I can't say it's a type of animal print I've ever seen before, that's for sure. At least she ditched the turban this time. Thank heavens for small mercies!

MotherofPearl · 24/01/2024 19:21

Sophie today. I like the blouse buttoned down - that really suits her. Not keen on the jacket - slightly too long and I don't like jackets with no lapels. Great photo of her laughing.

I'll stop hogging the thread now!

On the BBC photo Meghan looks like Doria.

And I do think Harry could have worn a tie!

BritneyBookClubPresident · 24/01/2024 20:18

Checking in GinCake

Maireas · 24/01/2024 20:31

I'm not sure about Sophie's trousers/jacket proportions, but I love the picture on the right.

OP posts:
Incogg · 24/01/2024 20:38

Perhaps Harry’s too Cali for ties now?

I love that look on Sophie - serious, stylish and youthful compared with the dresses she favours. I hope she pursues it further

mikado1 · 24/01/2024 22:16

I'm also a fan of Meghan's style here, and as usual her makeup and earrings 😍 Where do you shop for this look @Maireas ?

Very true. I remember bawling my eyes out when my dad shaved his beard off!

locketrocket · 24/01/2024 22:44

Evening all

And thank you for the new thread @Maireas

Maireas · 25/01/2024 06:52

I think Carolina Herrera, @mikado1 , although I'm trying to find out about the earrings.

OP posts:
Maireas · 25/01/2024 07:26

....plus...Jimmy Choo clutch bag and Jennifer Mayer gold hammered disc earrings. I'm not sure about the camisole, it could be CH too.

OP posts:
hopeishere · 25/01/2024 07:58

@Maireas Royal Fashion Police has more on the earrings (they're great on sourcing all the items!)

I gather Sophie was at that event talking to teens about periods very openly so well done her!!

Cross post!!

Eaumyword · 25/01/2024 08:02

Ooh I like those earrings!

KnickerlessParsons · 25/01/2024 15:32

There are earrings just like those on Etsy, in gold and in silver. Also matching necklaces. Not expensive.

Shock news! Princess Anne wears new outfit!

Proper new-new, apparently. Not we-haven't-seen-it-for-40-years-new.

That just seems unimaginable for Princess Anne! Love the colour.

Wow - a new outfit! Great colour.

Do you think she's had the pattern for 40 years 😉
