Morning! I'm starting a new thread before I go to work as it may get filled before this evening.

Thanks for the new thread!

I think Anne should throw that green outfit into the back of her closet, lock the door, and throw away the key.

Here's Leti in a Teresa Helbig jumpsuit. I'm not keen personally because it's too fussy, even in black and white. The proportions don't work, imo. Nice low heels, though, and make up good as usual. Full marks to Felipe and his tailor - another sharp suit.

Quite. It's very unflattering - it seems very boxy and heavy.

Yup that green suit of Princess Anne's is not a flattering cut at all. Awful.

LadyEloise1 · 26/01/2024 08:17

Thank you @Maireas for the new thread.💐
I agree with you @mathanxiety re Anne's outfit. Horrendous.
Mind you Max's animal outfit isn't far off. A rarish fail for her.

I think Megan's eyebrows are a bit thicker and that changes her looks. But there may have been work too. Subtle but altering.

MotherofPearl · 26/01/2024 08:26

I missed these photos from a few days ago of Charlene and Princess Stephanie at a football event. It's great to see the warmth between them as I always feel worried that Char might be unhappy or isolated.

The other photo has been released to mark Char's 46th birthday. She looks so poised and elegant - I love the square neckline.

MotherofPearl · 26/01/2024 08:26

Photos! It's too early in the morning for me and I've not had enough coffee!

What lovely photos.
I'm impressed by Char's ability to make a black puffa coat and boots look elegant (mine looks like a cosy sleeping bag.)
Her portrait photo looks lovely too, nice neckline.

themessygarden · 26/01/2024 08:56

Beautiful photo of Charlene.

Letizia's black and white jumpsuit looks similar to a nuns habit.

Think Princess Anne found a roll of 50 year old fabric at the back of the attic and decided to put it to some use.

Chewbecca · 26/01/2024 11:35

I do like the jaunty pattern angle on Anne's pockets.

eggandonion · 26/01/2024 12:22

I wonder if Angela Kelly is giving advice...one nice bright colour with jaunty pockets for interest.
She is very sensible to keep wearing her clothes. They must be good quality...and sensible. (Sensible sounds dreary doesn't it. She's an excellent woman).

justasking111 · 26/01/2024 12:41

To be fair it looks better open

😆

I love that it's a brand new outfit which looks like it came straight from 1958.

gingercat02 · 26/01/2024 13:08

Anne's outfit may be new, but it is exactly what my auntie would have worn to church in the 70's/80's.

MmePoppySeedDefage · 26/01/2024 13:17

At least it's not brown. Or yellow. Or brown and yellow, like so many of her resuscitated outfits seem to be.

eggandonion · 26/01/2024 15:00

It does look better open and with black. It's 7 weeks until St Patricks Day. Anne can hand out the shamrocks this year.

themessygarden · 26/01/2024 15:46

That jacket does look much better open and coordinated with black @justasking111.

That’s so nice to see.

Thanks for the new thread Maireas!

Speaking of throwbacks, I absolutely loved Princess Alexandra of Hanover raiding her Mum’s cupboard and wearing this vintage Chanel dress from 1990 - 10 years before she was born! She looks fab, too. Here’s Caroline in it first time around, for good measure

So rare to see Charlene smile. Love the recycled Chanel.

justasking111 · 26/01/2024 21:10

I have a thing about bad hems. It's a strange fabric to use as well. Love the one on the model though

Sophie was wearing her Christmas scarf too.
Max had an interesting necklace...not so keen on the coat though.
Also didn't like CPV's checked suit.

Long time lurker and occasional poster. I think Charlene looks lovely. And happy, more importantly. I think she has had an awful time and has finally found peace in life. It shows in her choice of clothes I think.

I know no one will agree but I can't stand Anne. I do admire her in a way for ignoring fashion trends and warring what she wants. She always looks good. Probably because she doesn't follow fashion.

Eaumyword · 26/01/2024 22:57

Everyone's different I guess - I like Anne. Think she's no nonsense, hard working, doesn't seem to take herself too seriously and is the kind of horsey gal that's long as she's clean, neat and no hay in her hair, she's good to go! I also like that she eschewed titles for her children and that has freed them to be part of the family, but also do their own thing.
I wonder if the Highgrove scarves are a bit of a solidarity thing? Or maybe Sophie just really likes it!
Ps: not keen on CPV's trouser suit either. Bit Rupert Bear for my liking.
