What jeans are we all wearing atm?

I'm not wearing any at the moment but I want to buy a pair. Preferably on Vinted as I'm poor and trying to be sustainable ( mostly poor).
I have a pair of straight legged jeans by Levis but they are baggy round the bum.
I have some flared jeans by Shein which are ok.
I got out of the habit if wearing jeans as they aren't always comfy round the waist but I like the fact they are timeless and go with everything.
I am a slim size 12.

I love my wide legged jeans from Albaray, and Albaray generally as a brand. Really flattering, go with anything, I live in them!

I have these from Zara in three different colours. Super comfy and flattering.
I'm 59 and size 8. ( completely irrelevant but for some reason mumsneters like to add age)
Zara has a huge selection of jeans of all lengths and shapes.

New look Hannah or Tori

BigBoysDontCry · 21/01/2024 22:30

My current favourites are a pair of next slim leg mid rise. Size 10 long. I'm 5'10, size 10 and 57. I don't care what's in fashion really, I like to be comfy. Also think I'd look weird in baggy/flares and I'm not doing boot cut. Straight leg look too baggy, skinny fit too clingy. Slim leg is where it's at for me.

Nannyfannybanny · 21/01/2024 22:34

The ones I'm actually wearing at this very minute are Tu black, look a bit like those Mom jeans from M and S. Next vintage (charity shop,) lost 2 inches in height since getting older, plenty of M and S jeggins. Flares look ridiculous on me.

APassionFruitMartini · 21/01/2024 22:35

Holland Cooper skinnies. Unbeatable to flatter curves in the right way

rhiannon1967 · 21/01/2024 22:39

Other Stories flared jeans with the front patch pocket. Absolutely love them

I've also got the M&S dark wash wide leg cargos. I love them too. They're really smart.

I've never, ever owned a pair of skinny jeans and almost certainly never will!

High-waist jeans with a flared silhouette, detailed with duo patch pockets at the front and back. Slim Fit Flared Comfort stretch Zip fly with button closure Length of inseam: 82.3cm / 32.4" (Size 27)

Abercrombie mom jeans, really good quality and the most flattering mom jeans I have found

Orestesa · 21/01/2024 23:53

I wear high waist jeans that come up to my belly button. They're the only kind I find comfortable. Now I never bother to try on jeans that aren't high rise. It's taken me many years to learn this!

dancinginthewind · 22/01/2024 00:20

I notice that, at school pick up, 75% of the mums are in skinny jeans or gym gear; if I go out though, hardly anyone is in skinnies.
My revelation recently is Next Hourglass jeans. So exciting to have jeans that don't need yards of fabric around the waist yanked in with a belt. I know Levi's and Gap have done (and perhaps still do) similar cuts but they never worked for me for some reason. These Next ones are spot on.

All the unfamiliar brands I like in TK Maxx and the charity shop turn out to be German!

I'm going there in the summer (for the Euros 🤣) and I've blocked out a full day and an empty holdall for shopping in Dusseldorf. Can't bloody wait.

Have fun! You can get Amisu stuff at New Yorker and Ann Christine. I wear it to death.

SheerLucks · 22/01/2024 02:07

I've been wearing M&S The Ivy Skinnies for three years. I have them in white, blue denim and black, and wear them with Uggs and Ash hi-tops in the winter, New Balance in the spring and with Birkenstocks in the summer.

I think I'm at that no-going-back stage of life that I thought I'd never reach now.

FluffyFanny · 22/01/2024 07:30

Wide-legged. Jigsaw jeans are fab on me!

Nannyfannybanny · 22/01/2024 08:25

I don't follow fashion, I am 73. I know what suits me and what doesn't. DH and I did the flares and bell bottoms in the 1970s,laughing like drains at these old pictures.

IggOrEgg · 22/01/2024 09:25

Oh I find jeans so difficult!! Wide leg and baggy styles don’t suit me at all, I definitely look best in either slim or skinny jeans so I’ll stick with what suits me rather than what is in fashion! I do have a couple of pairs of Stradivarius’mom slim’ jeans which are the only mom jeans which have ever suited me (and make my bum look fab!) as they’re very much a skinny/mom hybrid but otherwise it’s 311 ‘shaping skinny’ Levi’s (comfy and flattering but tend to be a bit big around the waist for my figure, always wear a belt anyway!) or a gorgeous pair of slim leg vintage Wranglers I found on Vinted which just fit like a dream!

Ariela · 22/01/2024 10:31

M&S Sienna straight leg jeans. £25 I think last time I was bought some (birthday over 6m ago). I would get yourself to M&S & try some on.

cathyandclaire · 22/01/2024 10:51

I found these Ganni jeans pre-worn when I was trying to try new ( ish) shapes for me. They feel a bit more current than my skinnies- I have proper wide legs but they stay in the wardrobe because I feel short ( well, I am short) and dumpy in them.

What jeans are we all wearing atm?
Lakeyloo · 22/01/2024 12:42

Skinnies here too !... I personally don't think they'll ever go out of "fashion" (and I don't really care if they do!) I tend to live in calf length boots at this time of year so skinnies all the way.
The only jeans I think look dated are bootleg, but just my opinion and never been a fan for some reason.
I have a pair of wide leg that I wear with trainers, and some straight leg i wear over boots or with trainers.
The supermarkets actually do some fairly decent jeans if you are on a budget.
I also find M&S jeans a good fit for me - slim size 10 - 12, and they have a huge variety of fits and lengths. (Ivy and Sienna as others have mentioned are good)

chalkyc2 · 22/01/2024 12:51

I'm in M&S mom jeans and one pair of wide legs. Skinnies are out in this house!

MorrisZapp · 22/01/2024 13:02

Every charity shop in the land has at least one pair of M&S Sienna's on their rails. It's the law.

SunflowerSeeds123 · 22/01/2024 15:53

Mom jeans. I'm wringing the last bit out of my old ones (3 pairs, Simply Be) because they are falling apart after three years constantly good service.

When I get new ones I expect they'll be wide leg or straight.

Renamed · 22/01/2024 15:57

Men’s straight jeans. The waist isn’t too low and the pockets are big enough for my phone.

EvelynBeatrice · 22/01/2024 15:58

I try different shapes / lengths every so often but always find Mint velvet jeans or good old M&S lily ( slim fit short) are most flattering. I'm 5'4 and slim but hate tight waist bands.
