I'm not wearing any at the moment but I want to buy a pair. Preferably on Vinted as I'm poor and trying to be sustainable ( mostly poor).
I have a pair of straight legged jeans by Levis but they are baggy round the bum.
I have some flared jeans by Shein which are ok.
I got out of the habit if wearing jeans as they aren't always comfy round the waist but I like the fact they are timeless and go with everything.
I am a slim size 12.

I'm favouring a Mom jean currently

ReadyForSeason · 21/01/2024 16:24

Levis 501 cropped

Bobsledgirl · 21/01/2024 16:28

If you like them and they suit you get some skinnies! I’ve stopped wearing them since having DC2 as they just aren’t comfortable or flattering on any more.
Straight and wide leg seem to be more fashionable at the moment but I think you have to wear what you like and feel good in! 😀

Edited

There's also the question of what you wear WITH it. When skinnies were in fashion I wore looser tops. I don't want to wear those any more so need my jeans to be a bit looser. Slim or straight is OK.

yarnwitch · 21/01/2024 16:56

I'm still in skinny jeans. I know they're dated now but nothing else seems to work for my shape, especially in the current jumper and boots wearing weather.
Mom jeans make me look like a barrel, straight jeans make me feel frumpy, and flares are no good on a cold wet school run. I never know what shoes or boots work with these either, and I'm too cold to balance them out with a thinner more fitted top.

Celticdawn5 · 21/01/2024 17:09

I wear jeans from Toast but having discovered Finnisterre Yarrell trousers am living in them and contemplating buying the Jeans version.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 21/01/2024 17:10

This time of year skinny or straight. When a bit warmer a sort of flared style and skinny with buttons and detailing on it.

WhereAreWeNow · 21/01/2024 17:25

I really like the M&S mom jeans. I was eyeing up the Magic jeans in there the other day because I like the way they're cut at the back (those darts above the rear pockets are super flattering) but I'm not sure if the 'magic' bit means they're super tight and restrictive which I don't want. I'll need to try some on but waiting for some Sparks offers (haven't had any since November!).

I’ve found it hard to go all out with baggier styles including wide legs and flares as without heels they make my legs look short. Also after so many years with skinnies they just feel a bit much so I look for girlfriend/boyfriend/tapered/barrel which I find on trend but also flattering.

I’ve got a pair of Weekday Rowe (very high rise, straight leg) I wear constantly - go with everything, hold in my tummy if I’ve been overindulging.

Also a pair of Levis 501 skinny that are tbh really uncomfortable (virtually no stretch)…but they make my bum look amazing 😁thick-waisted, mum tum, long thin legs, not much bum for reference

PlumPeony · 21/01/2024 18:06

I've been looking for a straight leg, full length jeans for a long time but haven't found any, so I've just bought some flare jeans from vinted. Feels like 90s - but I really liked them then

LadyLapsang · 21/01/2024 18:15

7 for all mankind skinny
paige slim leg cropped
frame slim leg
frame flared
7 for all mankind crop flared
& lots of others

Bdaybdilemma · 21/01/2024 18:20

M&S boyfriend jeans. I tried some H&M ones and the fit was very odd. Maybe they're more for teen proportions

MrsVeryTired · 21/01/2024 18:25

Slim, I got some fab biker style boots so goes well with that.

Rummikub · 21/01/2024 18:26

Skinny from asda. I can’t wear baggy Styles as I’m way too short.

Ordered a new pair but noticing that they’re much thinner denim. I tried ordering higher cotton content but still not as thick / heavyweight as I’d prefer. Is this cost cutting??
Anyone have any suggestions?

supercatlady · 21/01/2024 18:34

I love Angels Forever Young. They come into TKMaxx quite often. Most comfortable and flattering jeans ever in my opinion.

SaltyGod · 21/01/2024 18:37

Wide legged for me, love this style and find it really flattering for my shape. I don’t find they get too wet if it’s just drizzle but I do carefully avoid puddles.

When it rains heavily rolled up boyfriend or straight with boots. Sometimes mum jeans in the summer but I struggle to style them with boots in winter

Grinchinlaws · 21/01/2024 18:45

M&S mom jeans here too! Love them.

Crackery · 21/01/2024 18:49

Wide leg from M&S in black and in dark denim...

BarelyCoping123 · 21/01/2024 18:53

I don't care what's in or out - I've tried every form of jean over the years (except bellbottoms, but no need) and I know what suits me best, so i will be staying in my low-rise skinnies until i die!

letmeeatinpeace · 21/01/2024 19:08

M&S mom jeans are surprisingly good. I've also had luck with Gap.

LaPalmaLlama · 21/01/2024 19:09

All the jeans. Live in them. My absolute faves are Gstar Raw Kate boyfriend but they are more a summer style as look best with a roll up and Birkies. In winter I wear Hush blue straight leg, 7 for all mankind straight grey jeans and Next skinny jeggings ( with zip and button fly so not too jeggingy) because I always need skinnies at some point. Also have some really nice black, wide leg Hush jeans but they’re more denim trousers than jeans.

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 21/01/2024 19:13

I wear Levis bootlegs, which I get from the US (ebay) as the style I like aren't available here (not in the UK).

Bootlegs just seem to suit me more than any other style.

NewKingontheBlock · 21/01/2024 19:16

straight jeans make me feel frumpy

I feel exactly the same and I think I look frumpy as well, I think it’s because they are neither one or the other a sort of ‘nothing’ look so I either wear skinnies, slim fit flare or a low rise boyfriend.
