What jeans are we all wearing atm?

I'm not wearing any at the moment but I want to buy a pair. Preferably on Vinted as I'm poor and trying to be sustainable ( mostly poor).
I have a pair of straight legged jeans by Levis but they are baggy round the bum.
I have some flared jeans by Shein which are ok.
I got out of the habit if wearing jeans as they aren't always comfy round the waist but I like the fact they are timeless and go with everything.
I am a slim size 12.

MOM jeans, love them 🙌🏻

WeightoftheWorld · 21/01/2024 19:47

I mostly wear skinnies, I like them, they suit me and the rest of my wardrobe. I did have a pair of straight leg until recently (knees too faded so got rid) but I never really liked them, agree with people that I just felt 'frumpy' in them much as I dislike that word! I also like jeggings although appreciate they're not exactly a substitute for jeans in many outfits/circs.

Isometimeswonder · 21/01/2024 19:56

I wear boot leg with boots and sandals. Straight leg with trainers.
Hate skinnies and jeggings!

I forgot… I love my black jeggings recently especially warmer ones and I’ve got nice grey Tu skinny/slim fit jeans with a slim belt.

At this time of year I live in my PER Una high waisted ankle grazer skinny jeans in the short length - they are the only jeans that consistently fit me and are comfy to wear.
I was in John Lewis last week and just managed to stop myself buying a pair of Levi slim fit jeans. Thankfully I remembered just in time that every time I’ve bought a pair of !evis I’ve ended up selling them and gone back to wearing the Per Una ones which I find so much more comfy

Mimami · 21/01/2024 20:14

So hate jeans but if I was going to buy any I'd look for stretchy

Wide legged for me, love this style and find it really flattering for my shape. I don’t find they get too wet if it’s just drizzle but I do carefully avoid puddles.

When it rains heavily rolled up boyfriend or straight with boots. Sometimes mum jeans in the summer but I struggle to style them with boots in winter

I don’t know how to wear my mom jeans in the winter either. They work with trainers I guess.

WhereAreWeNow · 21/01/2024 20:28

The thing I love about the M&S mom jeans is how neat they are on the waist but roomy everywhere else. I find them really flattering. I nearly bought another pair the other day and noticed some recent reviews on the M&S website saying the cut had changed and they're no longer any good. I hope they haven't messed up the perfect jeans!

Hounddug · 21/01/2024 20:37

Next Bootcut - first time I’ve had something not skinny in 16 years . They’re comfy - high rise / inexpensive £25 - but do get wet or muddy in wet weather

Grandmasswag · 21/01/2024 20:45

Another for M&s wide leg cargo jean. Wasn’t sure if I’d feel silly in them as wore the trend the 1st time around but love them. For spring I will wear with roll neck, bomber jackets or cropped cardi. Last year I was obsessed with the mom jeans from M&S but the light coloured ones which I’d be wearing for spring have worn away a bit on the knee which is disappointing. I hate it when jeans go baggy on the knees. Suddenly can’t stand skinny’s and notice how dated they look.

gocompare · 21/01/2024 20:51

Magic skinny jeans from m and s
Magic skinny flare from m and s

Both are comfy and flattering

Crazycatlady79 · 21/01/2024 21:01

I buy Diesel, Replay and Levis second-hand (Vinted, Ebay etc), as I still love the fit of ones from the late '90s/early 00s.

SaturdayGiraffe · 21/01/2024 21:01

Ones that used to be mom and now are skinny…

Petrine · 21/01/2024 21:03

Levi 501

IlonaRN · 21/01/2024 21:05

Eva bootcut jeans from M&S

Princessfluffy · 21/01/2024 21:09

High waisted wide leg for me, and pure cotton only, no stretch denim.
Current faves are from Nobody's child, Ragged Priest, Oliver Bonas, Zara and New Look.

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 21/01/2024 21:11

Next "Slim, Lift, and Shape" in bootcut and skinny.

ichundich · 21/01/2024 21:12

I am still wearing low waist skinny jeans. Don't care what is currently 'in'.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/01/2024 21:24

Levi’s in various fits. Baggy Dad, 90s 501, and 80s Mom. I never suited skinny jeans and was so pleased when they stopped being the main denim to buy - I’ve not had a pair since 2018!

NewKingontheBlock · 21/01/2024 19:16

straight jeans make me feel frumpy

I feel exactly the same and I think I look frumpy as well, I think it’s because they are neither one or the other a sort of ‘nothing’ look so I either wear skinnies, slim fit flare or a low rise boyfriend.

I feel the same. They look good on other people, just not on me.

Boomboomshakeshaketheroom · 21/01/2024 21:30

Levi's Ribcage.

Fit like a glove around the tum and bum, holding everything in.

They are wider leg but ankle grazers, so the bottoms stay dry and they are perfect over boots.

Dearee · 21/01/2024 21:39

High waisted slim ankle grazers from ....Tesco! Faded black. Goes with everything. Can wear boots or trainers. Best of all is no indigestion as tummy is so comfortable.

WhereAreWeNow · 21/01/2024 21:47

@gocompare are the magic jeans very restrictive and tight? I mean are they meant to hold you in or is the magic all about a flattering cut?

SideshowAuntSallyx · 21/01/2024 21:53

I'm still in skinnies, they suit my lifestyle and my style. They also flatter my shape, my legs are my best bit so why would I hide them in baggy jeans!

I wore flares back in the 00s and remember the wet ankles well.

43ontherocksporfavor · 21/01/2024 22:03

I wear wide leg jeans with a platform trainer to avoid wet hems. I wear jeans less and less though and choose a wide leg jersey trouser as more comfy and flattering.
