Best neckline for a big bust??

Just that really.
Looking for a '2nd time round' wedding dress, must be simple and elegant but I want to disguise my enormous bosum as best I can!
What sort of neckline should I be looking at?
Thanks!

V-neck neckline.

Pushkinini · 18/01/2024 18:44

I usually look for v-necks or deep round necks for my rather large chest.

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 18/01/2024 18:45

V or round neck, fairly low but not showing actual bust iyswim.
Absolute worst thing is a high neck.

Wadermellone · 18/01/2024 18:46

I go for v neck or low round neck.

If I go for low square or a high neckline I look really bulky.

HippeePrincess · 18/01/2024 18:49

I think it can depend on your shoulders also but sweetheart or v neck works for me, definitely nothing high necked or straight across.

hopelessbusiness · 18/01/2024 18:50

@Riverlee they're both nice... I've tried an empire line dress on (waist under bust) and I looked horrific...not sure if these would be the same??
Also doesn't need to be a wedding dress as such, I'd quite like a midi length, maybe 1950's look? 🤔

That first dress wouldn't work as it's cut directly under the bust which would make it look bigger. The second one is lovely, but only if the cups would accommodate the breasts. Imo, something low neck that skins the bust is best. I'm a 34g so I know how tricky finding something appropriate can be!

hopelessbusiness · 18/01/2024 18:54

@Appalonia would à low neck not draw attention to them? Arrrgghhhh!!

Vivian of hollowa do lots of 50s style midis dresses with an hourglass/busty shape in mind

If you want different colours then look at their evening dresses to

V-neck in crossover/wrap style works for me. Something like these?

I was just about to suggest something very similar. I'm rather large in the boob and my dress was a very similar style to this. It was by Candy Anthony. I loved it

This sort of thing

Can I just say that underwear is crucial to a dress! I'm also 34G and the same dress with different style bra can make or break it!

hopelessbusiness · 18/01/2024 19:26

@nearly40andfat that's beautiful!

Hi op congrats on your forthcoming wedding. I've nor bought from Bombshell personally but they say they do appointments at their showroom, might be worth it for your wedding dress.

SaladDays2024 · 18/01/2024 19:34

Boatneck is the best.
Round necks make my boobs 3 times the size and v neck looks indecent on big boobs.

hopelessbusiness · 18/01/2024 19:36

@Knickersinatwist36 oh absolutely! I will be investing in some serious scaffolding...

Nancy Mac might have the 50s vibe and many styles are v neck

Sahara123 · 18/01/2024 20:22

@SaladDays2024 I agree with you , I am rather large of bust and round necks make me look bigger , and V necks are too revealing . I’m so self conscious!
I do quite like what I think is called a Bardot neckline , a shallow V that is very slightly off the shoulder, although come to think of it you’d need a strapless bra and they always feel like they’re about to fall off !
