Best neckline for a big bust??

Just that really.
Looking for a '2nd time round' wedding dress, must be simple and elegant but I want to disguise my enormous bosum as best I can!
What sort of neckline should I be looking at?
Thanks!

Kind of Audrey Hepburn vibe. Although I suppose being 5 ft 2 and big busted isn’t exactly a Hepburn look 🤣

Lower necks actually draw less attention to the bust. Go too low and you can run into issues, but a good v is your friend. A scoop works as well.

if you feel like you need coverage, the strapless with lace on top is fantastic.

no empire waist. A natural waist dress or a-line is best.

the absolute worst thing you can do with a large bust is cover your chest in a large expanse of fabric. It will just make everything look bigger. Even if you show a bit of cleavage, your chest will be less prominent with a lower neckline.

That is lovely!

Boatneck is the best.
Round necks make my boobs 3 times the size and v neck looks indecent on big boobs.

Yes I love a boatneck - so hard to find as well.

V or round neck, fairly low but not showing actual bust iyswim.
Absolute worst thing is a high neck.

Came to say exactly this. V neck and not high necked or halter

Agree with this, I keep seeing women in v neck dresses that sit just above the bust, sort of a modest V and I understand the wish to keep them covered, but its such an unflattering cut!

Cap sleeves are also one to steer away from!

That is simple perfection!

Riverlee · 18/01/2024 22:14

Have you ever followed/ seen Gok Wan?
Bigger boobs.. always V neck..
I took his advice and it works.

In my opinion something like this that covers them fully would draw even more attention and make the bust look ever larger.

KatharinaRosalie · 19/01/2024 07:22

Have you tried a cowl neck? Not with spaghetti straps but this style, I find them super flattering and as they drape over bust, boobs will be more hidden.

That one with the lace across will not work - it makes the whole chest look huge and shelf-like. You think you're disguising them, but you're not.

It depends on your shape and shoulders, but I'm best in a v neck (a little bit of cleavage for a party is fine and flattering, just make sure it's not so low everyone gets an eyeful). I also like sweetheart, square, low scoop and boat necks. Essentially you need to be able to see my collarbones, and preferably there's a dip of some kind in the middle of my body to draw the eye down. I also really love an undone shirt dress, although I guess not for a wedding.

Absolute worst is crew neck and round neck. I wish they'd stop being fashionable, I'm struggling to find tops at the moment.

SnapdragonToadflax · 19/01/2024 07:35

Oh and angel or 3/4 length sleeves are best. Nothing puffy, and absolutely no cap sleeves.

That structured cowl neck above is lovely too.

I’m a 36F and for almost everything l go for a V neck. People often forget that we are 2 sided!!! In terms of style, I would go for a low back as well.

StarlightLady · 19/01/2024 07:55

To add to my comments above (l hit return too soon), be proud of you boobs, it’s not all about hiding as much as possible or trying to pretend they are not there.

Enjoy your big day.

barkymcbark · 19/01/2024 08:16

I've a big bust and I usually go for a v neck or boat neck line.

Round, square or halter neck look awful on me.

Tomasinabombadil · 23/01/2024 19:39

If you like 1950’s styles & not specifically a wedding dress have a look at Pretty Kitty U.K.
I would agree with other commenters & say go for a V Neck, there’s lots on the website.
Apologies for not sending a link, I’m rubbish at tech.🙂
