Sports socks over leggings trend - I have questions!

Everyone seems to be wearing sports socks pulled up over gym leggings now.

-Is this just an athileisure ccasual trend or are people who actually go to the gym wearing socks pulled up over their leggings?

-I generally see this people wearing white trainers and white socks over black/dark leggings. Can you style this with other coloured trainers and socks? What does/doesn't work?

Should I just stick to my short trainer socks and ignore this trend or is it here to stay?

I've seen it more in my gym since coming back after New Year along with their matching crop top and leggings so obviously not because they're cold. Whilst I'm huddled up in my hoodie.

Oversized hoodies and sweaters are my go to.

Normally worn with my big, black parka, sometimes I mix it up with my cream trench.
Also a large denim jacket come spring

56 ...big fan of leggings ,sports socks or boot socks and sparkly sliders when popping to Aldi for emergency ingredients .

Cosy when I'm going to the gym. Trusty Bridgedale socks over my leggings. Change into little socks when I get there.

I for one have enjoyed not having cold ankles for the first time in 20 odd years. However I look like a bit of a knob.

Been worn in my gym for several years now, amongst all ages.
Also for athleisure amongst school run mums.

I wear these nearly every day but Nordic socks with either trainers, mini Uggs or walking boots as I walking the dogs every day

Gym type but they don’t look too sporty, they’re from Fabletics (you can sign up, get the 2 for £20 or whatever leggings and then cancel the subscription 😂).
