@Firesideknitting good idea with the double duvets! We’re in a 17th century cottage which I’m guessing is probably similarly ’chilly’. So I’m looking into this 👍

MrsRadichio · 02/02/2024 12:58

Looks really good @Firesideknitting and enjoy your trip to SM if you are dropping in. I've only been once but the gardens in the same complex are also worth a look.

@Snowyowl78 and @Qweesh I can't make out if those sandals are the Fracap fisherman sandal or a pair by Steve Mono. Doesn't look like they are on the website yet though, whichever one they are.

MiracleToast · 02/02/2024 13:49

@Firesideknitting you look lovely in your new outfit. I love the vest in both colours—can you advise on sizing?

Have fun at SM ! 🤗

faustina · 02/02/2024 13:53

I love that indigo twill shirt - such a rich shade of navy!

@Firesideknitting - it all looks lovely together. Is that Piglet in Bed bedlinen? I was admiring their stuff online the other day

Just got my Kindred email too - very useful for the free postage!

I’m a 12/14 and buy a toast 14 or L, all fits good.
@faustina yes it’s wonderful, piglet points also add up very quickly.

just leaving SM, I got a dress I’d wished I’d bought, as well as the new season jumpsuit (it’s beautiful). Hubby picked up a couple of pairs of trousers.

Qweesh · 02/02/2024 14:33

@MrsRadichio oh good spot! I think they are Steve Mono. They’re definitely not the Fracap Fisherman. I just assumed they were Fracap 🙈 I’ve since been off for a Google search (should be working but #priorities) and came across these on the Steve Mono site.

@Firesideknitting I’ve just noticed you said you got the new jumpsuit. The V neck one or the crossover front one?

Cross front one …. Hang’s beautifully…. I’ll wear a vest under as it has the potential to gape ever so slightly if I was to bend over, but it’s a flattering fit

Qweesh · 02/02/2024 15:25

@Firesideknitting Hurrah! Mine has been shipped. Am quite excited 🙈

Firesideknitting · 02/02/2024 15:26

I’ve a feeling I’ll get so much wear from it

Qweesh · 02/02/2024 16:21

I’m so pleased to hear this. Willing mine to hurry up now.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/02/2024 16:34

I’m really liking the look of that new jumpsuit, although it looks like a bit of wriggle to get on and off.

I am also questioning how many more clothes I really need; today I wore several things for the first time including the mariner trousers, bought in the summer sale, and a khaki shirt that I think I bought in the winter 2022/23 sale.
I had more or less decided the mariner trousers were going to be sold on, but having worn them today they are incredibly comfortable and I now know I will
get loads of wear from them.

I also wore the Paraboot Veley shoes, so comfortable, and some green sale socks, which were much admired by my hair dresser 🙂.

I relate to the ‘how much more could I squeeze into my wardrobe’. However to be fair the only items I regret are the gabi trousers I bought as I should of sized down, they are handy for me to pull on to wear on dirty jobs, but that’s not that often. I’m a fairly accomplished seamstress so have adjusted a few pairs of exceptionally wide fitting trousers … but the gabi I just don’t have the desire to do so

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/02/2024 16:53

@Firesideknitting I think if I look at my wardrobe the things I wear least are skirts, and then dresses. I also have quite a few things that don’t seem to go with anything else but I guess if I buy enough everything will eventually go with something 😁. Having said that I am getting better with my purchases, less really random stuff and more thought out pieces.

My greatest expenditure is probably on footwear, but I don’t worry about that so much as I always think better quality shoes and boots are much more comfortable and last longer.

Boots !! Oh gosh I’m terrible with ankle boots, i love them, so easy to wear. I wear dresses and skirts much of the time, trousers I find I have to think more of and make a conscious effort for trousers. I picked up the embroidered cotton kaftan dress today from SM, I’ll get loads of wear from that

MsDastardley · 02/02/2024 17:20

I got an email today to say I am now a Kindred member. I was beyond excited about that! I then had a quick tot up of how much I have spent on full price items last year, and it’s a lot. Just remembered I bought trainers too. I’m not complaining, as I’ve had plenty of wear from it.

I ordered something from Wyse recently, which I received today. Obviously a different aesthetic than Toast, slightly higher price point. Honestly, the quality is mediocre, not a patch on Toast imo. Going straight back. I’m going to order the Harlequin blouse and new Bryn dress instead.

@Firesideknitting and @Qweesh that jumpsuit looks lovely. Might give it a go

Dee1224 · 02/02/2024 18:07

It was me @Firesideknitting - thanks so much for posting the picture - you look great in that outfit and the top goes so well with the tank top! I am definitely adding both to my wish list.

Glad your visit to SM went well!

Alpacasoft · 02/02/2024 18:23

I received my Kindred email today
Also I noticed that you have to add the free gift to your basket if you want it I dont

@Firesideknitting please post a pic of you in the new jumpsuit and what size you got and what toast size you are 🙏

I'm very blah about everything else, am so not an apron dress person, I can't bear having to fiddle with things when I'm wearing them.

I love the dress, but due to arthritis I can’t get my arms behind my back, so it may be a miss for me !! I don’t fancy asking hubby to help dress me more than I already do ..

sonjadog · 02/02/2024 20:34

How does the apron dress work? Untied is it hugely wide, or is it sewn up at normal width and then the tying front or back is for effect?

sonjadog · 02/02/2024 20:36

I really want someone here to order it so that they can explain how it works!

MiracleToast · 02/02/2024 21:52

I quite like the print but would specifically only want to the one of the chair scene. Not sure if that’s possible!

MiracleToast · 02/02/2024 21:53

The apron dress looks nice but poplin is not nice sensorily for me. I too would like someone to try it to see what it’s like @sonjadog !

Snowyowl78 · 03/02/2024 05:25

@Firesideknitting which embroidered dress did you get from SM? The blue one with the yellow?
excited to see the jumpsuit! Mines in the post!

Countmeout · 03/02/2024 06:49

Love your skirt outfit @Firesideknitting . Is the tank heavy? I like the way they’ve styled it with nothing underneath as well but wonder would it be too warm for a decent day.

There was an apron dress in a previous collection. But in the video it’s fastened the other way round.
