Do wear gorgeous socks?

I had a moment earlier today.

I put my feet up on the sofa and saw - actually saw - my socks. Apparently I am the sort of person who wears bobbly, toxic blue, ribbed, nylon ankle socks. I'm not even sure they aren't kids cast-offs.

I don't want to be a bobbly, toxic blue, ribbed, nylon ankle socks sort of person.

Is socks one of those things that fancy people wear gorgeous ones? Like, everyone knows that XXX are the best ones?

Recommend gorgeous socks. 2024 is the year I up my socks game.

Thought bamboo socks- don't shrink like Seasalt ones, and lovely designs. Also Miss Sparrow and Milly Mae are good. Socks are my thing!

Otherwise, pick a traditional men’s outfitters; any of them will supply you with beautiful natural fibre socks in lovely colours.

I'm with you op, I love wearing nice socks! I've started to ask for them as a regular Christmas present and now I have loads.

My favourite ones are from Next and Accessorise but I also have some from Happy Socks.

The key is not buying multipacks but fork out for single pairs

Ps throw them out when they get bobbly!

Can you knit? Hand knitted socks are amazing, can be fitted properly to your feet and the range of yarns available is immense.

I've tried to up my sock game recently, and have liked:

Pringle bamboo socks
Seasalt wool socks
Seasalt fluffy socks
Happysock socks

I've also trained my family to appreciate a really nice pair of socks as a gift 🤣, DS even mentioned that he hoped he'd get a pair of socks at Christmas 😄.

I like Paul Smith socks and Falke socks. After extensive 'testing' with boots, both brands stay up and don't lose any elasticity or quality after washing and they LAST.

I have small feet & like my socks to be a snug fit, so not slopping about.

i wear children's socks. Sketchers trainer socks in the summer & boys socks in the winter. I like stripes 😂 dinosaurs etc. I was happy with my collection, but bought a new pack the other day that feel really lovely & realised how tired some of my older ones have become, so I'm on the look out for some more (don't like the ones I've seen - super hero's, weird colours etc)

I have a couple of 'nice pairs of ladies socks cashmere or whatever that I can wear if I plan to only sit on the sofa!! 😂😂

Nearly all my socks are sports socks (New Balance) because I'm a runner, but I did recently buy some lovely soft and warm socks from Uniqlo just before Christmas and they are now my new special "nice socks". 😊

Just got some lovely John Lewis cashmere ones from Vinted (new with tags). They feel very soft and luxurious and were an absolute steal at £3.50

Can anyone recommend any soft top socks please. I've tried the Sock Company but I still find theirs a little tight.

I've bought my Mum the Pringle ones which don't have elastic round the top before, she's always asking me to try and find more.

I love multicoloured Scandi-style socks, they make me feel happier about having to wear socks at all (as ideally I'd live in a hot country and never wear anything but sandals).

Actually, that's true - I've got women's ones with a fine rib that don't have elastic at the top, and men's ones with a broader rib that also don't (but these ones are a bit big).

I keep looking at these, and trying to work out if they look good, or if they just have good marketing! They seem quite expensive.

I second the Pringle ones with no elastic but I can rarely find them anywhere.

Not cheap, but they last well, you don't need to wash every day, and amazing colours.

I like Happy Socks - I've got giant feet and they actually fit me properly.

Costco merino wool socks are my absolute favourite. Maybe not amazingly exciting to look at but every time I love putting them on - like a cuddle for my feet.
