Where do you buy your socks?

Basically my very full Christmas present to myself is replacing all my worn out socks. However I want to get some good ones which will last. I used to get them from M&S, but I feel their quality has really gone down lately!

I wear boots a lot in winter so ideally I’d like some cute but comfy boot socks!

I usually just buy them in places like Asda but I recently ordered some from Amazon which are nicer than I’d expected

I wear M and S padded sole socks. They are lasting well and so comfy. They have stopped my feet from aching too.

I agree with you on M&S socks OP. Like everything else there they are not the quality they used to be.

I bought a pair of Doc Martens boot socks last week and they are fab. Pricy at £12 a pair but so so good, I will be investing in a couple more pairs.

Seasalt or sports socks (Nike, New Balance, I find cheaper thinner socks fall down on me for some reason.

They look lovely. I’ve had a look at the website but it’s a bit woolly (😂) about manufacturing origins, apart from the alpaca socks, which are made in the UK.

I love BAM Clothing socks. They’re bamboo so lovely and soft. Plus they have reinforced heels and toes so last very well.

I go hunting at TK Maxx for nice bamboo socks or decent quality cotton ones. I supplement this with chunky wool ones for colder weather, which I usually buy from local independent shops or walking shops. I used to buy from M&S but a combination of rather twee patterns and lack of durability has driven me away.

Well, as an aside I was recently recommended “Snag” for tights. I am six foot one and far from skinny so these are a game changer.

I have size 7 feet so can usually find some to fit - and they’re a million times better than most of what’s marketed for women. Generally prefer knee high for tall boots or wellies. And as close to 100% wool, mohair, silk, whatever, as possible.

The Goat Company mohair socks are my socks of choice for winter boots. So comfy and you can tumble dry them.

Hobbs - buy them in the sale - problem is they last forever so I need to justify to myself buying more when I don’t need them!

Another BAM fan, but if you want thick warm socks, Nordic socks have started doing knee high. Pricy but long lasting.

Weirdly enough I have (re)discovered the sock shop and their bamboo socks are great! So many fab colours too and and and less than a tenner for 4!
