What do you wear to do the housework?

I'm fed up of wearing a dressing gown , I don't want to spoil my day clothes and I don't want to wear old clothes

What should I buy that isn't depressing and unglamorous but taht I don't want to keep for outside wear?

I wear whatever I happen to be wearing at the time I decide to do some housework.

Octothechildherder · 14/03/2008 14:36

Ditto - my house isn't so dirty that I need to change LOL

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:36

Well, that's OK for hoovering (say) (just done) but not for washing the floor (task waiting to be attacked now).

I tend to wear my pyjamas then bung them in the wash.

hecate · 14/03/2008 14:37

well, I've been doing stuff today in a skirt and a bra.

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:38

I was out this morning signing papers at the notaire so I'm wearing a Joseph sweater dress, boots, tights... and I'm seriously contemplating getting redressed in my dressing gown . So, so depressing...

Generally I keep my day clothes on (Prada, Chloe or F&F) but I pop one of these over the top just for a bit of added protection

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:38

I don't own any pyjamas... not sure that I like pyjama idea more than dressing gown...

something like this

BeauLocks · 14/03/2008 14:39

Haven't you got old tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt?

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:40

No. No track suit bottoms. No t-shirts.

How odd. Best go and buy some then.

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:41

sherby - very fetching but don't you get horrible cleaning products all over your skin???

OP posts:
soapbox · 14/03/2008 14:43

I try to avoid house work, but when I have to do it, old jeans and a t-shirt.

Anna8888 · 14/03/2008 14:44

soapbox - I avoid housework like the plague (hence the non-wardrobe) but my cleaner and I parted ways earlier this week and I have yet to find a replacement...

Don't you have staff to clean floors?

One of these would solve your problem.

TheFallenMadonna · 14/03/2008 14:45

Jeans and t shirt here too.

I rather like that you don't have any t shirts.

Another world...

sagacious · 14/03/2008 14:47

Ahhh x post
I suggest you organise a new cleaner tout de suite

fryalot · 14/03/2008 14:47

If you're getting those half naked firemen, I don't mind coming to supervise them.

I'll even pay for my own train ticket

CatIsSleepy · 14/03/2008 14:48

ooh how the other half live

Yes well tout de suite is not going to be before this weekend and the window cleaner was here this morning and left footprints all over the parquet and the white tiles and I will just have to get down on my own hands and knees this afternoon.... Grrrrrrrrrrr.

OP posts:
fryalot · 14/03/2008 14:52

you just can't get the staff, can you, Anna?
