She has wonderful ankles! She's looking great!

I bet Leti loves these shoes, elegant but comfortable

I like that dress on Zara which is interesting g as I usually think she looks a mess. I assume them attending these events in Aus is a major source of their income?

LadyEloise1 · 07/01/2024 10:09

I love that dress on Zara, though not crazy about the sleeves.
Is it the same brand - Rebecca Vallance - as the lovely black one with silver detail she wore in November at the brand's relaunch in Harrods ?

KnickerlessParsons · 07/01/2024 10:17

The shoulder part of Zara's dress makes her look like an
American football player.
Perhaps it looks better IRL.

justasking111 · 07/01/2024 13:30

Zara is short waisted with a fine bosom. Belts Etc don't suit. This dress skims her waist and flares out. Perfect for her.

I agree. I think she looks great in it. I don't usually like that sort of sleeve or the length, for that matter, but I think it all works together on her.

LadyEloise1 · 07/01/2024 17:54

I browsed all the dresses on the Rebecca Valance website.
I could have bought a few in the sale if I had the money and occasion to wear them Smile

I've just had a look too and also need the money, the figure and the occasion. There are quite a few dresses that are very much Zara's usual style - short, belted and buttoned up to the neck. IMO the one she's pictured in above suits her much better.

Wasn't so keen on Za's previous look but I really love this dress! Looks fantastic on, very flattering and fun.

Vitriolinsanity · 09/01/2024 19:00

Love the blue and white. Fresh, great hat.

Wasn't so keen on the black, but I'm not keen on gold appliqué.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/01/2024 19:04

I love that look on Zara. It is very fresh and Summery indeed.

Sophie's wedding tiara. Not a favourite of ours is it? Although the final picture shows that it's since been put onto a rather more substantial base which looks like two rows of diamonds. Definitely a good upgrade.
The picture of her at the Swedish wedding is a little unfortunate - she looks like she's wearing bunny ears! (It's the headdress of the soldier behind!)

Tiara of the month: the Duchess of Edinburgh’s Anthemion wedding tiara, built with Queen Victoria’s jewels

With her birthday around the corner, Tatler takes a look at Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh’s most treasured headpiece – a tiara with quite extraordinary pedigree

It would have looked better I think if the frame hadn't been quite exposed so looks better with the diamonds round the base.

So it's just a few days to the proclamation for King Fred and Queen Mary. What do you think she will wear?

It's a tricky one as it appears she may not have had much notice that Margarethe was going to abdicate to get something amazing made but the proclamation has historically always been very low key as it occurred the day of or the day after the monarch's death.

It's really cold in Copenhagen right now so, despite it really being only a balcony appearance and a car and carriage ride she will need something warm. But regal. But it's not her who is becoming monarch so she is the supporting act as it were.

I think she will 'copy' Margarethe who wore purple in her abdication address as it's a royal colour and wearing the same colour symbolises 'continuity'. She wore purple to Charles' coronation. And she will try to wear a cape type coat rather than a regular day coat to try to amp it up a little. She wore a cape two years ago when it was Margarethe's golden jubilee.

Am sure she wishes it could be more like the Netherlands as Maxima looked amazing in her long cape dress and huge tiara and there was more pomp too. I think Mary will be wearing some sort of headdress possibly like Camilla did for her wedding service at St George's.

I'm also fascinated to see what Fred chooses as his motto for his reign. Most of my thoughts not suitable for this thread.
