So it's just a few days to the proclamation for King Fred and Queen Mary. What do you think she will wear?
It's a tricky one as it appears she may not have had much notice that Margarethe was going to abdicate to get something amazing made but the proclamation has historically always been very low key as it occurred the day of or the day after the monarch's death.
It's really cold in Copenhagen right now so, despite it really being only a balcony appearance and a car and carriage ride she will need something warm. But regal. But it's not her who is becoming monarch so she is the supporting act as it were.
I think she will 'copy' Margarethe who wore purple in her abdication address as it's a royal colour and wearing the same colour symbolises 'continuity'. She wore purple to Charles' coronation. And she will try to wear a cape type coat rather than a regular day coat to try to amp it up a little. She wore a cape two years ago when it was Margarethe's golden jubilee.
Am sure she wishes it could be more like the Netherlands as Maxima looked amazing in her long cape dress and huge tiara and there was more pomp too. I think Mary will be wearing some sort of headdress possibly like Camilla did for her wedding service at St George's.
