Look Fantastic Advent Calendar 2023 Opening Thread

Hey, I’ve looked to see if there’s already a thread for this calendar, but couldn’t find one. Is there anyone else with a Look Fantastic calendar?

i was very pleased with yesterday’s Elemis hydration serum. Won’t mention today’s just yet in case not everyone has opened it, but it seems to be another good offering. So far, so happy!

A light day today after yeaterday’s double treat, but I like Nude Stix…I have some of their eye sticks/pencils so will give the lip/cheek stick a go.

Can’t get too excited with todays make-up brush cleaner but it will be used. There are still a few products I can remember seeing on the contents list that we’ve not yet had so I’m looking forward to those.

Meanwhile I’m trying to resist buying the Christmas Eve Edit..

Oh bloody hell, now I have to go and look what the Christmas Eve edit is! 😩

Brush cleaner, really? The AC should make you happy, not remind you of those chores you know you should do but really can’t be bothered to!

I’ve stuck mine back in the box!

I already have this and use it every day after I’ve put on my foundation… though don’t do other brushes nearly often enough.
I recently bought a big refill pouch off Amazon to keep it topped up, so will keep this one in my travel bag.
Boring but useful.

I am LOLling at the meh messages on this thread for today's brush cleaner fluid. Definitely in the 'utilitarian but will be used' category here too, especially as I don't clean my brushes as often as I ought to, so there's no excuse now...

I’ve never used one before, retail value is between £30 and £50 too.

This was one of the items I have been waiting for! Something I have been wanting to try but couldn’t justify the cost. Advent calendars and Christmas Eve edits are different when it comes to spending money 😆

Lash serum, much better than yesterday’s. I’ve used Revitalash for years which is amazing but £££, so will be interested to see if this works as well.

Over the moon with todays! I have already lit it, smells absolutely lovely and so Christmassy.

I love todays too, I could smell it as soon as I opened the box!

I haven’t lit mine yet, I’m saving it for tonight when I pour a baileys and start the wrapping.

Packaging is beautiful as is the smell. It would make a fantastic gift.......but luckily, I’ve got all my gifts 😀

Had a look at the Aery website and the sam candle costs £28.

Another fan of the candle here, it smells divine. I’m also happy with today’s slightly smaller gift…but useful nonetheless

Super chuffed to have got to the 16th with only one slight DoD. Pleased about the multiple in today's. I've had a stressful/busy year and these sort of products are relaxing to use and feel like little acts of self care.

Perfect description of today's, I am looking forward to having half an hour or so this week to try one of them and my wrinkly eyes will be grateful.

Seriously continuing to be smug about this AC choice, I'll use almost everything and DD stands to gain from the couple of others. Yesterday's candle was a <chef's kiss> standard of drawer.

Trying to resist another peek at the contents but kinda hoping that there is a good moisturiser in the remaining drawers ( but have a feeling there isn't).

Really happy with the last two days.

The candle smells so lovely and is perfect for Christmas. I like the idea to light it with a drink in hand to start the wrapping. Sounds like a plan for tonight!

i tried out the eyepatches this morning as I was at a friend’s birthday last night and am feeling a little worse for wear. I have really dark circles under my eyes since turning 40 and it seems to have lightened them up a bit.

I could do with a moisturiser too, fingers crossed.

I think the LF advent calendar fillers must have seen my diary for this month, these are DEFINITELY needed today after a Christmas party last night. Currently laid in the bath with a pair on!

I am also in need of a new moisturiser - I’m scraping and squeezing the last few bits out of my current one and don’t want to buy any more if there’s going to be a decent one in the rest of the calendar. I guess this is the downside of deliberately forgetting what is in there so I get a surprise.

I said to my friend earlier that this Calendar is my favourite Christmas gift ever and well worth the money.

It’s just been lovely to have something to look forward to every morning and be able to use nice things and have a bit of self care, especially for those who have had a tough year or are just feeling a bit low and run down.

I am very, very happy with my choice and the only DoD I can think of for me was maybe the brush cleaner, but I do need some and it’s useful to have so I can’t even really moan about that!

Has anyone had LF advent calendars before? Just wondering how previous years compare to this one?

Oh, and I thoroughly enjoyed wrapping last night with my Bailey’s and yesterdays candle lit, the smell was gorgeous!

I had LF in 2020 and 2021, didn't get it last year (got Glossybox instead). This year has been my favourite.

This is my first LF calendar @Falalalalaa and it has been my favourite year so far after previously getting John Lewis, M&S or ASOS. Those weren’t disappointing but I have been so impressed with the contents of this one.

The verdict from the eye gels: they have definitely worked, I’ve seen my face in multiple different mirrors since using them earlier today and I don’t look like I was out until 1am. My under-eyes are something I’ve always been self conscious about and they honestly look better than they have for a long time. Also my bedroom still smells lovely off the candle long burn yesterday.

Christmas is stressful sometimes but this calendar has really lifted my spirits 😊

Can anyone remember what this cost? I was looking back on my dispatched emails to see and it looks like the LF beauty chest and advent calendar were £69 but that can’t be right?

I know there were various offers and you got a discount if you subscribed to LF but I didn’t.

I paid about £74ish for mine with a discount code (not a subscriber) but yes I think the standard cost was £90.
Today's product retails between £15-£30 according to a quick google so once again we are all getting brilliant value. And a good brand.
That said I'm on the fence whether I'll genuinely use it as brown is my go-to colour, but it does look like it might be great so maybe I'll keep it for parties and big nights out (it'll last a LOOOOOOOONG time then 🙄).

The candle was a bit DoD for me. I LOVED the widely-hated tomato one in last year's Liberty calendar. But this one smells really synthetic and is making me think 'migraine incoming'. So I shall either sell or regift it.
