Harrods beauty Advent Opening 2023

Anyone fancy joining me for a Harrods opening thread? No spoilers before 7am but after that anything goes regarding that day’s content!

I’m another one who can’t be bothered with all of the cleansing-related faff. That’s another one that will be passed on. Sigh…

Aargh! Another hair product (Champu Growth Serum). I have a very oily scalp, so I guess this will also be passed on (if I can find anyone to take it…)

Another one for my between Christmas and New Year pile that I can safely try out as no one will see me! I shall either emerge as a gorgeous butterfly or Frankenstein’s monster in the New Year.

Ok, I’m done with this calendar now, what a waste of money it has been for me. There have been some better skincare products but hardly any makeup at all. I would expect a beauty advent calendar to have a good balance between skincare AND makeup. I also didn’t pay close to £300 for things like multiple dry shampoos and Kylie lipgloss! So disappointed 😔

I just wouldn't use this hair product as I have very thick hair, so another dull, dull day.

Was I drunk when I ordered this calendar? There have been a few lovely products but most of them have been so boring if not downright useless.

I’m going to buck the trend and say I’m actually quite happy with today. Thinning hair has become an issue for me post menopause and I’ve tried this this morning and it’s not at all oily - it just kind of sinks into the scalp after a minute or two. Hair products are usually a disappointment for me so I’m going off script a bit here …

Tbh I read back over the thread and there have been some excellent products. I don't want to be such a Debbie Downer about the duds that it takes away from the great stuff.

Mini Nars lipstick in Dragon Girl today. Bright red so not my colour at all and disappointingly small. Let's hope they have an amazing product in Day 25 to go out with a bang!

Another bore and another item for my daughter. She's done as well out of this calendar as I have.

Really, really hope they have an excellent last day. Disappointed there is no perfume but I suppose with the Harrods Fragrance calendar they decided not to include any in this one so people could choose.

I, too, wonder why I got myself this calendar this year. I don’t think many women can or do wear red lipstick. Another one for DD or her friends

Bit of a disappointment for the last-but-one day, not even full size!

What a disappointment! Some random perfume that we’re supposed to mix with other perfume (of theirs). Plus, disappointingly masculine fragrance for
me. Luckily I’ve saved my Space NK 12 day Advent calendar for January

I rather like the perfume but it is a bit of a disappointment - I expected a bit more of a bang for Christmas day.

They’ve had some really expensive, high end skin care in this but they seem to have spent all the money on that and then just filled the rest with somewhat meh items. It’s not been curated all that well overall.

I have to say I LOVE the perfume. It is right up my street and I can't stop smelling my wrist. Thank you Harrods....all is almost forgiven!
