M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2023 Opening Thread

Roll up, roll up, there doesn't seem to be an M&S thread that we can find yet, so please join in to discuss here!

General rules: please don't disclose what the product is until after 7am on the day that it's due to be opened. No spoilers, if you want to open in a different order then go ahead, but please only discuss the product on or after its specific opening date here!

This year I am hoping for: a decent black mascara, a daytime moisturiser and volumising hair products.

This year I do not need any more: red or gold nail varnishes, black eyeliner!

Let’s see how I get on!

This gold nail polish is exactly the same as last year's (that they paired with a maroon). I used it exactly once, so it's a drawer of doom for me today.

Hold doesn't sit well on me so I think I'll let DD have this (She's only 6 but I'll let her have it on for parties etc). This is the first "miss" for me out of the whole calendar though, so I'm doing well so far!!

Today's update. I used the hair oil yesterday and blow dried then straightened my hair. My hair today feels much better than with my usual hair oil (less greasy) so this might be a repurchase. Very pleased with today's nail polish. I was going to get a gold polish tomorrow for an event on Saturday so this it couldn't have been better timed!

Dd had a non uniform day today... She was delighted with the gold nail polish! Just a quick thin coat so it could dry quickly but it looked festive and pretty.

Not something I would have bought but both my DDs will enjoy it.

I also tend to have gels on my fingers, so might use this on my toes. I don’t really care that it’s winter, it’ll make me happy!

Loving all the products so far except maybe the lip gloss. Agree it’s a great calendar for the money.

In the spirit of trying everything in my AC I now have gold nails!! I actually quite like them! I am determined to try all the stuff when I get it. I also put the sleep cocoon on last night and I loved the smell 🥰

Gold nails here too, I've put a coat of gold glittery polish on top for extra sparkle. I really like it.

I've liked them all so far. I'm waiting for one I'm not keen on. I like a gold nail any time of the year! The lip gloss is nicer than I thought, not sticky like other glosses and I wore yesterday and my hair didn't stick to it - win!!

Day 8 is a hair conditioner by Philip Kingsley, smells good! Tiny tube but I will try it out tomo as have already had my shower today. Another good one to try!

I'm not keen on PK Elasticiser. Or rather, it's just never made any noticeable difference at all to my hair, so I always consider it an emperors new clothes product. Plus it's always in every beauty box everywhere.

Might let DD try this one.

Is today's the usual elasticiser or something different? There are no instructions but I wondered if it's just a normal hair conditioner? I'm hoping it is as still have elasticiser from other beauty boxes.

I am little underwhelmed with today's offering but will give it a go. I have gold nails too from yesterday.

This calendar is my treat to myself & I have had one every year since they started (I think) It gives me a little boost on these cold dark mornings & I don't look at the contents beforehand so it's always a surprise.

I am really enjoying it so far but today I feel a little bit meh with this conditioner! Roll on tomorrow Smile
