I usually like a lip gloss but wasn’t keen on the colour on first look. Although I actually really like it on. I’ve put it over the day 1 Clinique lippy we got and it’s a good subtle daytime nude on me. I’ve been loving having something to open every day, what a treat.

User136921 · 05/12/2023 08:39

I won't use todays but I see it is sealed so I will put in the charity bag as they often ask for unused cosmetics.

Buster27 · 05/12/2023 08:48

I like the look of today's (and the minty reviews are pleasing for me!) but I have several open lip glosses I should use up first. Will need to start using it more!

Houseplanter · 05/12/2023 09:02

A definite no from me. One for the charity bag; I won't even open it.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 05/12/2023 09:12

I am finding this quite a liberating experience!! I usually 'save' stuff for later or keep using a product that's maybe meh just so it's used up. Well no more! This morn I chucked out the moisturiser I was previously using as I never really liked the smell and will now use my new day 4 Murad moisturiser which smells lovely! I am also trying out / using all the products as they appear each day, I've already put a few applications on of todays lip gloss and I really like it. Doesn't look like the colour once it's on and it's not too gloopy a lip gloss. Great idea to put it on over the Day 1 Clinique lippy too.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 05/12/2023 09:17

I tried the lip gloss and it's still stinging! Why does it smell of TicTacs??
Is this supposed to hurt??
I like the colour and the shine, but I don't think I can live with the pain 😳

Ilikeyoursleeves · 05/12/2023 09:17

@VeronicaBeccabunga mine doesn't sting?? Do you have particularly sensitive skin?

Well, apparently I do to this lipgloss 🙄
I was wondering if it was supposed to have that 'plumping' effect but I've had to wipe it off.
Disappointed, but at least I didn't pay for it, dare say my daughter will be happy to take it off me.
Lips feel sore and a bit sort of throbby.....

Hapagirl48 · 05/12/2023 09:31

@VeronicaBeccabunga I haven’t actually tried this yet but I have previously had experience with lip gloss stinging me and I’m not sensitive to anything. I wonder if there is something in lipgloss that affects people like us? I’m scared to try it now!

NeedWineNow · 05/12/2023 09:39

I'm not usually a fan of lip gloss but I tried today's offering and I really like it. Agree with the minty smell/taste, but I haven't noticed any tingle which puts me off these type of glosses. I'm going to try it over the Day 1 lipstick as well.

Loving having a little gift every day and very pleased with everything so far!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 05/12/2023 09:43

I have a nice tingly sensation from the lip gloss but def not a stinging / painful feeling

greencheetah · 05/12/2023 09:56

Very happy with today’s offering. I have used Pixi lipgloss before and yes it does give a little tingle, but not actual pain for me.

Awww...I'm really sorry if I have put you off it and spoiled a treat.

I wiped it off and put on lip balm, then I've had a shower and washed my face with CeraVe cleanser/wash and then put on the Nuxe honey lip balm and my lips are still stinging. They're not puffy or swollen but do still hurt and look a little bit pinker than usual 😕

I'd try a tiny dab, with caution!

itsnothingoriginal · 05/12/2023 10:28

I have awful thin lips I really don't want to draw attention to and gloss just accentuates them! This one went straight to DD. I'm happy with the Clinique lipstick!

I get that sore, stingy thing that a PP experienced with Burt's Bees lip balm!

clowniform · 05/12/2023 10:58

Thanks all for mentioning the mintyness, I hate tingly lip things. Also another frosty tan shade, which Day 1 taught me I do not suit. At least it's sealed so can be donated.

Hapagirl48 · 05/12/2023 11:02

@VeronicaBeccabunga aww, you didn’t put me off but I was more cautious trying it. It doesn’t sting like the other one did but I find the sensation unpleasant! And the colour is a bit boring for my tone, it’s exactly the same as my lips already. So maybe a pass, I have 3 DDs who can argue over it!

BlowingAway · 05/12/2023 11:15

Hmm this looks like exactly the same colour as the earlier lipstick which is disappointing. I don't need two the same.

I'm thinking I won't open it and I'll either sell it, swap it or give it away.

If anyone likes it and wants to swap for something let me know.

Moofart · 05/12/2023 11:31

I think I'm going to give this to my friend for Christmas, is that bad to regift like that, I'm never sure if I'm being a cheapskate or saving the planet? I'm happy with the clinique lippy from day 1 and thinking of asking for my current gave the clinique black honey lipstick for Christmas which is more than enough for me x x x

MidnightMeltdown · 05/12/2023 12:57

Haven't tried the lipgloss yet, but it looks like a good colour for me. Much prefer it to the lipstick. Happy with this.

CointreauVersial · 05/12/2023 12:59

Ooo, I cannot STAND lip gloss, as getting my hair stuck to it gives me the ick. 😬

Perfect stocking-filler for one of the kidults in my life.....

MrsWidgerysLodger · 05/12/2023 13:55

Absolutely love todays. Colour is subtle but definitely "my lips but better" This is one I might actually repurchase! (Alternatively if anyone wants to rid themselves of it I have various bits from other beauty boxes I'd be willing to swap! Lots of brow products cos I don't use them!)

BaconAndAvocado · 05/12/2023 15:38

Love this lipgloss!!
M and S is shaping up well.
Also have LookFantastic and prefer the M and S so far.

Sluj · 05/12/2023 16:52

I'm a bit worried about trying this lip balm. They gave us a Skyn Iceland one in 2018 which made my lips swell up and were so sore all the way through Christmas - no pickles that year! Anyone else had sore lips from today's?

User136921 · 05/12/2023 17:00

A couple or so people had sore lips on the M&S reviews for the lip balm

NeedWineNow · 05/12/2023 18:41

Update on today's offering. I tried it over the Day 1 Clinique lipstick and loved it. No tingle and it gave the lipstick a bit more depth of colour. I will definitely repurchase.

Looking forward to tomorrow's opening!
