General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

Bit boring, but I do use this from the Decleor calendar. Yesterday's door was empty!!

@Peridot1 I remember that from last year. I loved the weird flavours from Bonne Maman. DH bought Tiptree this year which has been far less exciting, so far we've had marmalade, raspberry, apricot and blackberry.

Degusta today was a Food Doctor caramel bar.

Waiting for snag tights reveal!

Snag tights day 4. Acorns or lips? Im not sure but either way another pair for WFH warmth.

Today’s space NK offering, travel sized drunk elephant whipped cream moisturiser. Not excited but a good one to put in the travel stash.
loving the snag tights reveals! And definitely going to look out for the cheese one next year. Might also save up for vogue next year, 2 hourglass in one door is amazing.

I love the hourglass blusher. When I eventually run out of blusher on about 15 years, that is what I will be replacing it with.

LF is a mini Nars blusher in Orgasm

Ciate is a glittery translucent.

Kinda pleased. I've never tried the blusher though I know it's very popular.

OK advent was a mudmasky serum infused eye mask . I have been looking forward to this as I really need this at the moment . My sleep has been shocking lately and my eyes are terrible all puffy with dark circles . So this will be used in abundance tonight. I shall report back any success

My refill today is Summer Fridays overtime pumpkin mask and a single PG Tips teabag.

Strawberry and guava jam sounds delicious! I might have to get the jam AC next year.

gave away the CT palette from yesterday as I don’t wear eyeshadow! I did check the contents before buying and there were 2 things I knew I wouldn’t use but I can’t remember the other one now 😂
dd2 has the benefit calendar and she’s had a blusher this morning.

Everyone is very excited by hourglass, I'll have to try with an open mind!

H&B was a drawer of disappointment today - a candle with stones in it from an outfit called Psychic Sisters (!). Didn't like the scent, and can't use it anyway as scented candles set off my asthma.

@bigdecisionstomake bloody hell I like skincare but that's ambitiously priced. Approve of their use of 'tincture' though, much more appealing than 'essence' or 'serum'.

Have confirmed Selfridges mince pie calendar only has four flavours, so if they're not going to play by the rules, neither am I (on drawer 12). Today's Bonne Maman is the nicest so far. And HPxLego turns out to be clearly based on Prisoner of Azkaban, which is my favourite, so yay.

Diptyque day 4 is a Delice votive. This is one of their new (limited edition maybe?) Christmas scents and I'm really enjoying it.

DoD for me in todays Look Fanstastic - a mini NARS blush. Will give away to a friend. I get a monthly subscription box from LF which arrived today so I’m not fussed about the DoD!

I LOVE the tights from today @Dogsitterwoes and would wear those (lips print) with a black jumper dress.

I tried their Ambient Light finishing powder that people rave about on here and found it made no difference. But the Hourglass concealer is my holy grail, so you may be surprised. I'd like to try those two products.

I’m very impressed with the exotic flavours in the Bonne Maman AC. Strawberry and guava today! How funny that they’re exclusive to the calendar and not available in full size jars though. Hope we don’t enjoy one too much 😅

My Lumene Calendar eventually arrived, the items look lovely but tiny, glad I got it in the sale. Never heard of Hourglass & don’t wear blusher, so not overly impressed with Vogue offerings today?looking forward to tomorrow 🙂

I found the same with the ambient lighting. So much of hourglass stuff has been a disappointment for me but they haven’t been a particularly inclusive brand in the past, not sure if they’ve changed their ways at all as I have stopped buying from them in recent years. There wasn’t a single blush that I could get to show up on my skin and I’m not mega dark skinned.
Mind you it’s the same with the sodding nars orgasm blush, not a whisper of colour appears on my cheeks!

Today’s Boots No7 Ultimate is a gel finish nail varnish in Rose Gold. Pretty colour. Lancôme is a tiny bottle of Tresor perfume.
