I'm sick of it!!!!
I can't find a decent, bum covering, tall size costume anywhere.
I know it's not the season to be shopping for such things but I'm going to a very posh Spa at Xmas. Dragged my old faithful out the draw yesterday which promptly fell to bits.
So far I've ordered 7 from amazon. All too short or disappear up my bum.
Budget is £20-£30. Maybe I'm asking to much on that budget?
LTS are too expensive
Next has practically sold out
Marks are too expensive
What about Bon Marche? Anyone had one from there?
I'm not in the best of shape so standing in a cold bedroom trying to squeeze all my white flabby bits into a too small costume is seriously pissing me off!
Any ideas?

I've found the Boden ones very flattering - and they do for taller bodies as well.

I know these are a bit out of your price range, but might drop in Balck Friday deals?

I recently bought this Lands' End Tugless suit for below £30 and I am really happy with it. But I use it for lap swimming at a public pool, not a posh spa, so not sure if it's too basic. It really stays put though, and good bum coverage. I am 5'7. https://www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Tugless_Swimsuit/pp/P_41006.html?dwvar_P__41006_sizeVariation=59&dwvar_P__41006_color=TUR

I agree with PP, Boden swimming costumes are a really good fit. They have loads in their clearance sale at the moment which makes them affordable.

Winterjoy · 23/11/2023 18:54

I had the same issue for years due to having a long body plus wide hips/bum and found my holy grail swimsuit earlier this year. If you can stretch the budget up to £42 I can thoroughly recommend Halicine longer length range. Have found it to be thick fabric (not see thru), great bum coverage (make sure the leg height of the style is listed as 'low leg' in the description) and keeping it's shape well so far (weekly use since August). https://www.halocline.co.uk/collections/longer-length-swimwear?page=2

Discover Halocline longer length swimsuits for women with a long torso. Made from super-soft Italian fabrics these tall swimsuits are designed to last. These tall swimming costumes are 5cm / 2 inches longer in the body to offer a more comfortable fit.

Winterjoy · 23/11/2023 19:03

If I recall correctly when I looked at Bon Marche the cut was good coverage on the bum but the body was too short which pulled everything up at the crotch (don't think there is a tall/longer length range). Sizing-up might potentially add extra length? I swim regularly so wasn't happy to work with a less than perfect fit but for a spa day/one-off it could be ok.

App13 · 23/11/2023 19:05

I have some great sweaty Betty ones, which are structured and great quality. Bum coverage i would say is medium

Lentilweaver · 23/11/2023 19:07

Sweaty Betty would be above OPs budget, no? You might also look at Zoggs.

sarahh96 · 23/11/2023 19:10

Thanks all. I'm frantically following all links but the 'long' ones are out of stock in 16/18. There are some lovely ones to choice from if I had the budget. Sweaty Betty are too expensive for me I'm afraid. Zoggs is a good call, I'm researching them now

Take a look on CupShe. I’m not talking miracles though, l had to compromise myself. There is a lot of multi strap suits about to get in a twist. I just want high keg and a deep scoop back.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 23/11/2023 19:35

I ordered a Tugless one from Lands' End too, I usually wear a 12 but went down to a 10 (I did their what size should I buy thingy) and I am very impressed with it. I'm 5'7 and the regular fits well.

sarahh96 · 23/11/2023 19:39

@mdinbc omg why didn't I think of that! Tankini, that's the answer! Thank you, solves the problem perfectly

OP posts:
mambojambodothetango · 23/11/2023 19:41

Would you consider a tankini or swim shorts and vest? Would solve the length issue potentially. Decathalon have some nice, cheap things.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/11/2023 19:43

I find boden really good fitting too.

Oopsupsideyourheadache · 23/11/2023 19:45

The Boden Santorini is my go to for this. Im tall bodied and it's the only one that fits me well.

sarahh96 · 23/11/2023 19:48

@mambojambodothetango yes looking at Tankinis now, trying to find one with a longish top as I've got a meno tummy 😤

I was going to recommend a black tankini from matalan, but some sizes are out of stock online. It might be instore though. They have various bottom options- regular swimming knicker style bottoms, 50's style larger ones plus a skirted type. It looks like a one piece on, but has the convenience of being 2 piece. I have massive, H boobs, and its the only swimsuit I can wear without wiring. Its also flattering on the tummy. I'm 168cm (5ft 6) so can't say whether it will fit a taller person.

@SM4713 you wouldn't believe how excited I got pressing that link. 😂 You're right, out of stock. Will definitely pop into store and check though. That's the one I want!

I hope you can find it. I'm actually heading out this weekend to get another. I found it slightly long on me, so hopefully it will fit nicely if you can find one.

FLOWER1982 · 23/11/2023 20:11

I’ve got a long body when it comes to swimming costumes. I have to go up a size.

verrymerryberry · 23/11/2023 22:26

The best spa I had was a swimming costume from matalan

I'm 16/18 long bodied stumpy legs and this is super- in fact it's the sister of the kin posted above

I got an 18 and it's amazing

I've got zoggs for the pool and it's a bit crap tbh thin and the 18 feels a bit thin. The matalan one is lined

You are better to take two to a spa day- one for the am and a dry one for pm Grin

It says OOS but they had some in store the other day

I also have a long torso (although not particularly tall) and find most costumes go up my bum. The brands I find that don't are Pour Moi, Next and Boden. But I always size up.

happystory · 24/11/2023 08:21

I swear by the Zoggs Sandon, I hate a racer back and these are scooped. I usually get them on Amazon, I'm 5'9 and they fit well. Around £30

Twelveisthebestnumber · 24/11/2023 11:50

I'm 5'9", big boobs and a size 16. I think I have found the Holy Grail of swimsuits! Really affordable, lasts brilliantly, incredibly flattering, full bum coverage and extra strength tummy control. I have now bought 6 of them in various colours and they are worn daily as I live in a boat abroad. Can't recommend them highly enough!
