I don’t think we have a general “waifs and strays” opening thread yet? Happy to start it as in previous years if there isn’t yet one,0 and will post a link to it here later, ready for tomorrow.

I’m planning to open Vogue and Selfridges in December. Really excited for Vogue in particular.

@Chouxpastryishard - the main Next site. Then I clicked on Beauty. Then it showed Beauty Boxes and Advent Calendars and I clicked on Advent Calendars.

I was going to resist an advert calendar this year but I've just caved in and bought the Next ones... too good to miss at the reduced prices!

I haven't got one yet as have a reasonable sized stash.

I am a bit tempted by lumene though, I had it last year and really liked a lot of their stuff and was going to repurchase mostly from them once stash is used up.

I better check if it includes products I was about to buy anyway!

@Chouxpastryishard - I have to admit I was tempted! But I’m resisting.

I’m not wild about any of the contents to be honest.

@BadgerFace I've considered buying Lumene for that past couple of years but I've never seen the price as low as it is on allbeauty atm, so I would be surprised if it goes down more, but you never know! Usually it gets reduced to around £65ish

What is the waifs thread?

Just wondering are there enough people with the Boots Premium for it to have its own thread or is it waifs and strays for me? Waifs and strays is the best so I will lurk on that one even if we have a dedicated thread.

@48wheaties - some of the calendars have their own dedicated opening threads but for less popular ones there is a waifs and strays thread.

I ordered one of the Bridal Beauty boxes thinking I could get DH or my sons to use the contents to fill one of my old Liberty advents. However it is still showing as in transit with Royal Mail so who knows when that will turn up.

I also did a stock up of essentials with Look Fantastic along with a few little treats but that has been delayed with no delivery date given.

Sitting here feeling rather sorry for myself being adventless (not really), so have just ordered from Next so I can join in.

Arrgh same! Tbh tho £80 is a steal. Gonna do it in January. Several things I love inc Elemis balm and neon candle, plus some good gifts. And a great mascara too! I don’t mind a small one as I chuck after two months anyway.

Whoa don’t think I’ve seen this one mentioned on the thread yet. The box is gorgeous with the lining print.

Bridal beauty have a story on instagram (no idea how to find again) 12 days of Christmas boxes coming tomorrow.

Still no change on tracking for my mystery box

I've emailed bridal beauty as my Royal Mail tracking is saying they are still expecting the parcel.. disappointing!

@dullandgrey I did wonder about emailng but I don't know if they're good at replying

I even paid £5 for delivery!
My email was returned as undeliverable.
I'll try later from my computer, instead of using the phone.

My tracking says the same! I will email too. An army or mumsnetters up in arms 🤣

Maybe they issued the labels but not took the parcels to the post office (or post office not collected)?.

But, more important question here is: do I buy any of these upcoming Christmas mystery boxes tomorrow or not?!!!

Oh dear. I've ordered loads from Bridal Beauty and shipping always seems to be a nightmare. Last time I spoke to them they said they were going to change couriers. One of mine went missing, but they did send another. Not ordered for a while as I got a bit fed up of chasing parcels plus I need to actually use what I have
