I have the Calrins one and I don't really see the difference. Maybe it is meant for more mature skin ? I am 26.

redadmiral · 14/03/2008 09:57

Clarin's one smelled disgusting and brought me out in blotches.

Not surprisingly haven't been that interested in trying any others. Am trying the baby bottom butter from another thread for £2.50...
(Am hoping it wasn't a joke thread...)

Immaculateconception · 14/03/2008 13:28

Have used the superdrug one since 1997 and have never had a problem with it. I find that you only need a small amount and its not sticky, have tried others but keep coming back to this one.

MrsMattie · 14/03/2008 18:11

I like it (Clarins products nice in general, but must be bought Duty Free or I feel sick when the Clarins tart rings up my purchases on the till...)... but I much prefer that Boots Protect & Perfect serum. God, I swear by that stuff. I use it as a moisturiser on it's own, a primer underneath other moisturisers, an eye cream and a lip salve.

Minkus · 15/03/2008 13:49

Virgin Vie Brightening Boost (think thats what it's called) is excellent- only need a little blob and it really does brighten your compexion and is a fab primer. Works as a highlighter too. They do a darker one for darker skin too, can't remember what that one's called though.

PANIC- tried to link it and I can't find it on the website though- hope they've not discontinued it I ran out before Xmas and haven't got round to re-ordering boo hoo

cornsilk · 15/03/2008 13:50

I use Clarins balm overnight just layer it on and let it sink in. I'm not sure if it makes any difference at all, but do feel I am doing something to counteract all the bad things I do to my skin!

turquoise · 15/03/2008 14:01

Flash balm is not supposed to go on under foundation though! According to the fantastic (amazing but true) Clarins rep at my Boots - balm is more like a twice a week mask that you don't wipe off. I don't really understand it tbh.

For under foundation I've had uk.clarins.com/main.cfm?prodID=862flash this]] which is lovely. It brightens the skin if you just want to use a bit of concealer, and makes foundation last much better. Since that ran out I've been using Mac Prep & Prime which feels lovely but have had a couple of spots (only been using for about 4 days) so will have to wait and see.

I think the clarins light thing can be used as an illuminator too, whatever that involves.

I think that's why people don't get on with half of these products - nobody's really sure what they're for. I know I'm not, and lovely Clarins girl at Boots always has gaggles of people wanting her.

turquoise · 15/03/2008 14:03

clarins

GrapefruitMoon · 15/03/2008 14:04

Oh I've been waiting for this one to recommend....

Boots Botanics Radiance Beauty Balm

Has light reflecting stuff (like in Vitalumiere, etc) and IMO makes far more of a difference than Clarins one (which seems to just be a moisturiser to me...)

Around £4.99 I think so a lot cheaper too.

turquoise · 15/03/2008 14:07

Can't stand Protect and Perfect, it made me spotty as a teenager.

Advanced Night Repair rocks - and I can make it last months. Have to at that price.

LOOBYLOU2 · 16/03/2008 09:32

On the back of BFB it does tell you to follow immediately with make-up.

got the tesco skin wisdom one this week. 'tis ok, stickier than the clarins one. but super cheap....

cocolepew · 20/03/2008 18:08

Used the Tescos Face Lift. People told me I looked well that day ( I must usually look like Mortica) I thought it highlighted spots blemishes. I used to like the Revlon skin lights, they come in different shades so you can match them to your foundation.

BBBee · 20/03/2008 18:13

I have been using this olay daily serum. I put it on straight away when I wake up and then make up about 30mins later - def gives good base and softens and tightens a bit.

Have used BBF too, was nice but not the orgasmic results I have seen reported on here.

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 18:21

Well this isn't quite the same but I had a treatment. It was extraordinary. Is the nearest you can get to a non-surgically to a face lift.

There were electric pulses put on the face and then collagen and hot and cold face masks.

Honestly - I never do things like this but it was For A Very Vain Good Cause, but god it really had some effect. It lasts for 4 weeks evidently.

BBBee · 20/03/2008 18:24

oooh was it your photo?

so did it work honestly? did anyone notice?

Maidamess · 20/03/2008 18:27

I don't want to buy a copy of Beauty Flash balm, because contrary to popular opinion on here, I really rate it and always wear it under foundation on a posh night out.

I think it makes a massive difference to the way my (dodgy) skin looks. So there. And I don't care if any other bugger can see a difference because I can

clarins beauty flash balm= over priced rubbish. i bought it and it wasnt any good.

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 18:36

BBBee - yes it made a difference! Honestly. But I am old remember - I think it works best or you see best results on those nearing and over 40. So she said. Also Julia Swahalia goes in to see her every month [ponce].
