Foundation/Concealer for aging skin

Recently I've noticed that if I wear a full face of makeup it creases badly around my eyes and ends up making me look more aged than I am.

Is there a better makeup brand, or type - cream maybe? that doesn't crease and works better for fine lines?

The Maybelline anti age eraser concealer is very good. It has really good coverage but doesn't cake around the eyes.

I tend to use a gel foundation or mix my foundation with my usual moisturiser and less is more..

I swear by No 7 foundation, stay perfect I think, and their under eye concealer. I use a bit of translucent powder on top.

I recently bought the Laura Geller baked balance and brighten foundation. It's a powder foundation, looks barely there and doesn't sink into creases.

I read lots of recommendations on here for Erborian BB and CC cream. The colour is good and it goes on well but I find it wipes off my skin really easily. Even if I put primer on first. If I hug someone and make contact with them, they end up wearing it, or if I rub my nose or anything, it just comes off!

I'm struggling to find something light and natural, but that stays on. I do have very greasy skin with large pores and it's almost like foundations etc just slide off.

I recommend this all the time, but No7 Hydraluminous.

It’s medium coverage, easy to apply, doesn’t crack, flake or sit in creases. Ive tried to stray but this is the only foundation I’ve used and gone back to for years and years.

Was going to suggest this - been using it for good few years, have tried a few other samples during this time (Estée, Lancome, Chanel, etc) and go back to Hydraluminous. It's lovely and flattering, I feel it enhances my skin rather than covers/cakes it! I buy it when it's Buy 2 Get 1 Free and with extra £ off online as it's often, unfairly I think!, much cheaper to buy online as they do more promotions for online purchases than in store. I've also got this https://www.boots.com/no7-hydraluminous-aquarelease-skin-perfector-10288699?cm_mmc=bmm-buk-google-ppc--no7---_-UK_Search_PMAX_No7&gclid=CjwKCAjw15eqBhBZEiwAbDomEkF5LLGZcySNzfKlHSFlvjo-P0WK-AdvQxmQZg2bpoB-p96HHLU_SxoCP1oQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds which is even lighter coverage and feels really nice and moisturising on when you want an even lighter touch. With both, I use a very lightest of touches of Laura Mercier translucent powder on the eyelids/cheeks to help prep for shadow/liner, cream bronzer and cream blush.

I too realised I had to switch away from proper foundation due to my aging skin. I now use Chantacaille tinted moisturiser. I’m very impressed. Get a colour match and tester pot first!

HappiDaze · 06/11/2023 00:04

You can just mix in a bit of moisturiser to your current foundation

Oh that's good to hear

I've been using No 7 Hydraluminous quite happily but fancied a change so I ordered the No 7 stay perfect the other day and the concealer to try out

Let us know how you get on? Keen to hear what else works - having the older skin myself

I do that. Game changer. No powder either. Or Clinique Super Defense City Block is good too.
