Teenage dd wants to wear a suit for prom

Dd is adamant that she doesn't want to wear a dress but a two piece with trousers or a suit of some kind.

I've looked at old threads for inspiration, but she's not really after a tux or dinner jacket type suit.

What are the alternatives please, if you've ever had a dd like this?

If she's tall, look at vintage jaeger on vinted and ebay. Ask for measurements or be prepared to have it taken in (not usually an expensive excercise and should give a really nice, custom fit.)

If she's not so tall, then westwood esque stuff, or even a bona fied westwood blazer second hand she can treasure. I think all saints went through a stage of doing lots of westwoody tailoring ten years or more ago, likely all over vinted, ebay, depop.

Some really good ideas, thank you. I like the 70s Bowie inspiration, but that's more me rather than dd!
Thise jacket below is the sort of thing she would like, and it looks like there's more options than I initially thought. I will be sharing these ideas and encouraging her to go window shopping in charity and vintage shops.

Try reverse image searching stuff she likes too, google has really improved its matches.

That jacket is hardcore. I like it, but I'd never be seen dead wearing it. Only question is, are there matching trousers?😂

Tartan suit is what my niece wore , very punk/Vivienne Westwood . None of us are girly girls in our family

My DD wore a lovely mint green suit from a Primark to prom this year. It was softly structured with a longer jacket. She wore a stripy blouse underneath that she found in a charity shop and her black converse on her feet! She looked and felt smart and very comfy.

I bought my dd a suit bought from Top Man and she looked amazing.
