Beauty Advent Calendars 2023 Part D- waiting till December?

Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

I’ve never had one of these beauty advents before but after I found this thread I treated myself to the John Lewis one for my birthday a week ago and I’m loving it!! So now I’m hooked…..DH has amazingly heard my very unsubtle hints and ordered me the Liberty one for Christmas, just after I’d splurged on the M&S one! So I’m feeling very lucky…..

Have you opened your John Lewis calendar?
I have that one and am looking forward to trying a lot of the products.
It was going to be my only advent but couldn’t resist the OK one as it was such a good price and then last week I bought the Fenwick 12 day calendar as it had a gwp.

Pinenu · 02/11/2023 16:40

@Possimpible I did.

I planned to open it from 1st November but forgot both yesterday and today so that made me guilty for buying it.

I returned it earlier and the lady quipped that I must be the only person she’s seen returning the calendar and not the items needed to reach the spend for the calendar.

Biscuitburglar · 02/11/2023 16:44

pinkchampagne1 yes, I started opening it on my birthday and it’s such a treat every day, I’ll definitely be doing it every year now!

Isabelle70 · 02/11/2023 16:46

I think I will keep the M&S for Janvent unless I find another one in the Black Friday sales..

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 02/11/2023 17:22

@Ilikeyoursleeves have also caved with the ciate nails one 🫣

I really loved the John Lewis one last year so am toying with that. Or am toying with the Jo Loves one-have had one in the past and it was fab to be fair-perfume/body cream and candles-loved it.

Dee1224 · 02/11/2023 17:28

That’s interesting @Pinenu - on my receipt it said the calendar was non-returnable, (otherwise I would have returned it as I have realised I don’t really want it🙃).

Dee1224 · 02/11/2023 17:31

In the MB outlet today in Somerset, they were doing 24 collated minis as a sort of advent calendar in a box for under £53. I was very tempted, but there were several items I wouldn’t have used so I got the 20 minis for £22 instead in two little bags. I might dip into one every day at random from 5th December and pretend it’s the MB advent calendar!

The box of 24 items was very good value, though - I suspect I will regret leaving it behind 🙃.

Pinenu · 02/11/2023 17:58

That’s strange @Dee1224 I bought online and it allowed me to arrange a return in store. Perhaps it’s different if bought in store?

Dee1224 · 02/11/2023 18:07

Ah yes, I bought instore @Pinenu - I think distance selling, they have to accept returns.

@Stoic123 I was tempted by that sleep edit, but then I realised Sephora has the AA oil and Neom candle and I'd get all the extra stuff for not toooo much more money, so 🤔 now I'm wondering if I actually do want Sephora after all!

I wish some of the companies would crack before BF and reduce to get them sold

oh me too !

itsnothingoriginal · 02/11/2023 18:46

Not beauty but just ordered Degustabox which is £5 off - £37. We had it last year and was really fun to open as a family!

MavisMcMinty · 02/11/2023 18:53

I don’t get paid until the 23rd, so hope they save a few great deals till then!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/11/2023 19:09

Bought the No 7 at the weekend and just spotted they are now doing quadruple points on it. I am annoyed I missed out but if anyone else is interested, now is the time.

I would re-order now to get extra points and return the original through (really easy returns in store).

Also, if you use TopCashBack, you'll get cash back with Boots but you have to place the order through Boots website, not Boots app.

I'm debating it. It's the hassle of bringing it in to town though so I need to decide if it's worth the €5 on principle.

bengalcat · 02/11/2023 21:14

I’ve a John Lewis one for me and refilling the L’Occitane one for DD - we can’t wait

MathsFiend · 02/11/2023 21:39

If anyone is interested in the Clarins 12 day calendar, Frasers are doing 20% off all full price items plus if you buy 2 clarins (eg 2 calendars or the calendar + another product) then you also get a GWP.

Branster · 02/11/2023 21:47

@OchonAgusOchonOh it is a hassle, true. Probably worth it if you happen to go that way on another errand.

MidnightMeltdown · 02/11/2023 22:44

I love the hot water bottle, but don't need the other items!

Not beauty advent but would make a great Xmas gift & gift to self!

I've just watched Keeley's (Elemis ambassador) live on FB about the upcoming Elemis TSV that goes live on Monday.
The Green bag is the new Fig bath/shower cream & body butter balm.
Red bag is Frangipani bath/shower & body butter balm
Beige Gold bag is Warm Tonka & Vanilla bath/shower & body balm.

All sets also contain the cleansing balm, eye serum, ginseng toner & a pro collagen marine cream.

Its £65.98 & will be available on 5 easy pays.

Thanks @TracyBeakerSoYeah this looks like a good deal

Ineedwinenow · 02/11/2023 23:08

@TracyBeakerSoYeah that’s a great offer, I wanted the advent due to the marine cream and frangipani so I’ll check on QVC on Monday 👍 still gutted the advent is out of stock already!

Do any of you advent experts 😜 know if they restock them? Elemis sold out in October so surely they would make an absolute killing by restocking in November??

GracePalmer33 · 03/11/2023 07:25

I'm jealous of all you ladies who can restrain yourself and NOT open the entire thing the minute it arrives 😂

Oh well, decision made. There are none left online and I wouldn't trust they would just re-sell it to me in store. I assume returns from online purchases are dealt with differently.
