Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

Not sure if it has been mentioned Harvey Nicks advent has 15% off. Also if anyone is tempted by the cult beauty Christmas boxes the code AFFCYBER gets you 20% off. I got the luxury box a few weeks ago when there was a GWP on and can recommend that it’s lovely . Candle a bit overpowering but you get your moneys worth on the fragrance!

Pinkyzstar · 17/11/2023 12:46

Is this for any product from L’Occitane?

pinkchampagne1 · 17/11/2023 08:26

Same here! I am opening the OK calendar at the moment, have JL for December and Fenwick for after Christmas. I also have the free beauty box that came with the Fenwick calendar and the Boots beauty box. I don’t need any more calendars or beauty bits but if there is a really good offer I know I could be persuaded! 😆

Really disappointed with OK to be honest. Even the box is cheap and nasty.

QueefofSheena · 17/11/2023 14:40

I’m waiting to see if there’s a further reduction on Mac, as I’m considering it as a gift for my goddaughter. I’ve got it down to £132 on LF with a code so it’s sitting in my basket along with an ESPA GWP for orders over £85. I’m just not sure about some of the lip colours. IIRC it sold out more quickly in previous years.

I agree that the OK box is cheap and difficult to get the items out of. I mainly bought it for the Kate Somerville moisturiser which is £130 to buy. I do quite like the look of the cleansing balm (not tried it yet) and I like the perfume but not loving the mud eye mask as it is so runny and the bath products are tiny sizes.

GentlemanJack · 17/11/2023 17:18

The TOYL Black Friday surprise gift box is out. £29.95 . I've had them before and been pleased. I've ordered to put away for myself, I always go by the - well, if I get 2 good things it's worth it proviso and other items can be gifted.

Stokey · 17/11/2023 17:20

What does TOYL stand for @GentlemanJack?

Talisin · 17/11/2023 17:32

Time of Your Life, @Stokey

HollyGolightly4 · 17/11/2023 17:36

My Vogue is here and it is a thing of beauty!! I nearly cried when I opened it 🙈

I'm so pleased I held off buying loads of smaller boxes/ACs for one big splurge.

Also, it is solid, so it's going to be my advent calendar for life now 😂

GentlemanJack · 17/11/2023 17:48

Sorry @Stokey and thank you @Talisin I was rushing getting tea ready. Oh and it's £29.99 and there are 500 boxes available.

Lol I remember feeling the same way when I bought my first luxury advent calendar some years ago, after being so skint for years that I would search old bags for loose change. My husband and I finally turned a corner so i saved, bought it and when it arrived I was just moved beyond measure at how beautiful it was to me.

It was a Fortnums and Mason one. Been hooked ever since. Enjoy your lovely calendar.

Really? £120! Wow. That makes me feel better.

Guys, do you think the Clarins one would be dull for a 26 year old? I'd get Benefit but it's heavy on pore products, and I do think they're a load of nonsense!
New to this lark!

I bought the Clarins one for a 27 year old friend who is also my children's music tutor. I think it's a lovely brand and the products have a special high end quality to them even though they aren't in the same price range as the likes of Westman Atelier etc.

The calendar itself though, feels a little flimsy but I don't think that matters.

Branster · 17/11/2023 18:36

@Stokey it's a subscription service but you can also purchase some past boxes if in stock.

I feel rather proud to have not used it yet - naturally bookmarked on my phone aages ago because it looks bloody good.

Sticking to LiB only for now because it makes me feel restrained and sensible and I still manage to get a good selection in the monthly box.

Branster · 17/11/2023 18:40

@faffadoodledo I fell in love with Clarins when I was 21. Still my favourite brand.

I think a 26 year old would appreciate such a gift, even if there are some products in there for more mature skin (I haven't looked at contents).

It is actually £132 so a very pricey moisturiser!

Dee1224 · 17/11/2023 18:59

@faffadoodledo - I have been thinking about buying the smaller Clarins a/c but it is VERY small - the main product in it is a full size flash beauty balm - so - great if you use that, not if you don’t. The rest of the box contents seem to be sample sizes. I had a lovely chat about it with the assistant on the Clarins counter and she agreed that it’s not great value if you are not a fan of their BB.

If you can get it for 20% off it becomes more reasonable in price for the size.

Maybe the Rituals a/c would be good - people imo tend to be more accepting of trying new body products than beauty stuff they might not already use.

CaveMum · 17/11/2023 19:04

My Perfume Society samples arrived. I’ve fallen in love with the first one I’ve tried - Escentric Molecules 01 + Black Tea. It’s divine! Then I googled to see how much and it’s £115 a bottle 😱😱😱 I shall work my way through the other samples and pray they’re cheaper 🤣

ClarkeWGrisswald · 17/11/2023 21:56

Please don't touch TOYL! The owner is a total fraud and has a long history of ripping people off and not sending boxes . Trust me - I know her well and how she operates

Just google 'all boxed up' and 'Karen Davis' ...

QueefofSheena · 17/11/2023 22:39

I’ve had the odd box from TOYL when it’s had things I really wanted. I risked it as they had EGF serum in the first one I bought. I’ve had no issues, but I am aware of the previous problems through reading about it on MSE.

Pinenu · 18/11/2023 07:41

Selfridges showing as 1 left again.

pinkchampagne1 · 18/11/2023 10:45

The discount brings Harvey Nicks down to £212.50. If I hadn’t bought any calendars I might have been a bit tempted but it’s still a lot of money. I think that one is quite fragrance heavy

Selfridges showing as 1 left again.

And was showing as out of stock yesterday so I think we're being played!

Massivescreen · 18/11/2023 10:54

I just went to buy the John Lewis one online and it’s now sold out. I did see one in the store yesterday though. May go back and get it not sure! It was quite heavy.
